In my experience with a Bank of America credit card the details section of the transaction will specify the initial amount as seen by the credit card. I have seen this on the website.

For example you purchased an item for €20.00:

  • If the store charged you in €'s the details section of the transaction would show €20.00 but before you expanded the transaction to see the details the transaction would be listed as $21.42.
  • If the store charged you $'s the €'s would not be shown in the details section. You would only see the $'s their network charged you.

This is in addition to any foreign transaction fee that card may have.
