First off I enjoy the app. It’s helpful and insightful. Now, how do I disable ads after paying for premium? I still get popups when I open the app prompting me to opt into beta features like sleep apnea screening. I’ve said no thanks multiple times but keep getting bugged. No means no.

I’ve used this app for a long time, but the latest updates reduce its usability. The splash screen trying to get me to sign up for a sleep apnea study (no), is just an ad. Forcing a default “wake up window” rather than defaulting to the last-used option means every. Single. Night. I have to cancel my alarm and re-select the second screen. It’s getting cumbersome.

-I ’ve been around.
You can take away all of my phones, my electronic devices, delete all my other Apps to never be found again,
but I WILL find a phone, my photos WILL remain intact and don’t touch my Sleep Cycle App.

Does what it says on the tin. If you don’t pay, the pop ups are annoying, but hey, it’s free. One thing I’d like to see them fix: the app size is 350mb and it’s storing another 250mb of data on top. That’s pretty large for what this app does.

Sleep Cycle lets me know when is the best time I should try to go to bed and the best time for me to wake up.

I have been using this app for around three years and it really helps

I’ve been a paying customer for almost a decade. And now there’s a non-dismissible ad for their sleep apnea study that I couldn’t care less about. Make it go away or lose a customer.

Purchased this app probably a decade ago before it became a subscription. Now it seems like the app is breaking in weird places, perhaps in an attempt to force many premium monthly. For example, it’s been months since I’ve been able to even view my sleep score. When I go to the journal it takes me back to 2020 instead of today’s date with really no way to view my score for the day. Which makes the app pointless but perhaps that’s the point.

This app has not worked for at least two years. I’ve had this app on my phone for years. Did not have premium because I was getting enough. Without premium so then Sleep cycle offered half off the price of a year sub subscription. And last summer, I took the offer for a year and this app has not worked. regularly at all. I get maybe one night a month that the sleep graph and sounds work.. The ChatGPT is a joke for some reason after they get my money they just will not allow the app to work. I have to update every other day and it’s still does no help. I would not recommend this app. and when this subscription is done, I am done.

I am so disappointed that this app has ads now. Instead setting my alarm and drifting off to sleep, I was accosted by an ad on the main screen. I pay $20 for a subscription and I still get ads. That’s insane. I am now looking for a new app.

We’ve used Sleep Cycle for a few years. It used to have Family Sharing, but not anymore.
The app used to link our phones so it could identify who was snoring, coughing, or moving around. Not anymore.
It’s on sale now for 50% off but we’d have to buy two to get what we used to have, well not exactly what we had, but they do seem to have added quite a few new in-app purchases above and beyond the value reduced subscription price.
The app itself is good, but it feels like it’s turned into a blatant money grab. Just use the free version.

This app turns off Siri without any warning. If you use Siri to check your blood glucose or some other vitals in the middle of the night, or worse, you need to call 911 - you cannot, because the Sleep Cycle app disabled Siri functionality without any warning. I got a response from the app developer full of tech babble but no acknowledgement of this problem. I am surprised Apple allowed this in the app store without warnings, especially to users of accessibility features.

The app used to be perfect and everything worked well. Then some updates and bug fixes happened but now the Philips Hue integration no longer works consistently. It turns off my lights at bedtime only when I go and change a setting. And it doesn’t ramp up the lighting in the morning, leaving me to wake up to a dim red light that doesn’t turn off like I’ve asked the app to do. Disappointing because this is one reason I pay a yearly subscription.

I love this app but the free features are getting less and less over time.
euridalos • Mar 24, 2026 ★ 1
the alarm doesn't work sometimes. i've used this app since it's launching however the service quality getting worse.
Julie Williams VO • Mar 24, 2026 ★ 1
I tried to use the free subscription. But once I entered my initial information it said let’s begin—they a forced paywall came up. Chat GPT told me to delete and reinstall and the forced paywall sometimes goes away. It came back.i am not giving payment information to an app before I ever even try it!

The app might be good. ?? But I don’t trust the company’s sleazy practices.
Carpedianey • Mar 22, 2026 ★ 3
It quits after 3-4 hours meaning I can’t get a sustained streak of good data.

I downloaded this app and tried it for one night. I woke up in the middle of the night and the app began playing kids movies, but the larger issue was the fact that my phone was extremely hot and overheating from something due to the app. Deleted the app and ever since my youtube keeps showing that i’m watching random kids shows.

This app is decent at its basics, as long as you don't expect miracles. It's simply not possible for it to figure out every possible scenario for every user, but in my experience it does well most of the time.

Its support, however, is another story. For some reason I cannot understand, this app has a play button for its "aleep aid" in its lock screen widget. Apparently they think everyone needs to turn that on right from the lock screen.

I have lost count of how many times I've woken up in the middle of the night, tapped the screen to see the time, and being barely awake, tapped that play button by accident, waking my partner up.

There is no way to turn this off, because again, apparently they think everyone absolutely needs to have access to this at all times.

I've then contacted them to ask for a toggle to be added. First they told me there is no way to turn it off (which I had already stated in my first message). I said I knew that already, I was asking if it could be added.

"No."

The conversation ended with me saying that even though I've been paying for this app for over 14 years, if I had that situation happen again, I would get rid of it.

It happened again.

Goodbye.

Simple as that. It tracks how well I sleep and what I can do to improve it.
rrrrichoooo • Mar 18, 2026 ★ 5
I use it every night, checking results every morning. It reminds me to catch up when I don’t get a good night’s sleep by going to bed earlier.
