Answer to: How do I automatically approve "low risk" Github Copilot commands in VS Code?
Score: 0
Yes. In recent versions of VS Code, the closest built-in option is Assisted permissions.
You can enable it with:
"chat.assistedPermissions.enabled": true
Then select Assisted permissions from the permissions menu in the Chat/Agent view. VS Code uses an AI-based judge to decide whether a tool call can be automatically approved; calls it doesn't approve will still require confirmation.
The green/red risk assessment shown for commands is separate. chat.tools.riskAssessment.enabled only controls whether that risk assessment is displayed—it does not let you configure an automatic approval threshold based on the risk color.
If you want deterministic control instead, you can use chat.tools.terminal.autoApprove to explicitly allow specific commands or patterns.
I would avoid enabling global auto-approval just for this use case, since that effectively removes the approval safeguard rather than selectively approving lower-risk commands.
