This article examines the phenomenon of technology as an instrument for extending the cognitive and creative capacities of the designer.Drawing on Marshall McLuhan's concept of media as an "extension of man," the author investigates how digital technologies transform the philosophy of design thinking -from the formation of a concept to its materialisation.A qualitative analysis of contemporary design practice, grounded in philosophical literature review and case-based reasoning, reveals three levels of technological extension, three irreducible human limits, and three emergent paradigms of design thinking. The article concludes that technology does not replace design thinking but creates new horizons of possibility within it, demanding a philosophy of hybrid, reflective practice.
