Very useful app. Works well enough. But absolutely demolishes my phone battery. Log in to a computer for a quick check, close app and it continues to eat my battery. Any day I use it (regardless how long) it is always the highest battery consumption app - and it’s not even close. Need to remember to force quit always.

"When using a non-English input method, such as Simplified Chinese, typing a period (.) outputs a Chinese full stop (。)."

This is flawless on an iPhone. But a particular frustration of mine on iPad is the arrow keys get held longer than one single press.

Doesn’t seem to be able to connect to my MacBook. This app hasn’t been updated in over 2 years. Definitely a questionable purchase at this point.

Not a bot. not a AI. I’ve been using them since I was probably 10 trying to play Minecraft remotely. THEY ARE FIRE!!!!! Keep up the great work guys!

Just plain works. I tried everything else and nothing worked besides Jump desktop for connecting my iPad with my Mac mini and even my PC to my Mac mini. It just works. Don’t waste your time with anything else.

The app itself works very well to connect to my remote devices. Sadly however I just discovered what appears to be a major bug / issue with this app and wanted to potentially warn others. Used it Wednesday night to remote into my computer and then didn’t open it again. Thursday and Friday my phone’s battery was getting zapped (with little use). Finally checked my battery page Friday at 1PM, and discovered “Jump” had used up 31% of my battery since the morning! Also on Thursday it used 55% of my battery. All of this drain was with 0 on screen time and only from “running” in the background. I checked settings and there’s no option to disable background app refresh, so it appears the only current “fix” is to force close the app immediately when you’re finished using it. Quite disappointing to have to overthink using this app that it’ll zap your battery if you’re not aware of this issue.

This has some good functionality for iPad, but it needs a mode that truly captures how the native iPad gestures work. You can pick between a touchscreen interface, or an interface that allows pinch to zoom gestures, but not both. Extremely mediocre but better than Windows RDP. Not worth $15, but now I know why they don’t offer a free trial, probably no one would buy it if they saw this limitation up front

Chiefs kiss. The best by FAR compared to anything if you wanna iPad to a Mac.

I went to launch Jump Desktop on my Intel Mac only to be greeted by a popup that they have switched over to Metal which requires me to now go in and manually download an older version of Jump Desktop from their website. Upon doing this, it asks you for your password 20x over and over and over and over again and when it finally loads it tells you that you need a Teams account or to purchase a new license? What? I’ve used Jump since it was first created and now you want me to purchase another license? And why was this change made when you KNEW what kind of experience it would provide for users on older hardware? This is where you start to see red flags with companies - when you can make changes like this and say screw our loyal customers that have been with us from the beginning they’ll figure it out or get over it - that’s a dangerous mindset.

This is a great idea. But if it doesn’t work right off the bat (and it did not for me) you are up the proverbial creek without a paddle. Customer service is by email only and, if you have ever tried to solve a problem when each question and answer sequence takes many hours to complete, you know that solving a problem like that very unlikely. IYKYK.

can we please have copy, paste, select all, and find buttons like the android version?

I’ve been looking for a Remote Desktop app that didn’t have a subscription, and this seemed to be the only option. I saw some places say that it has pressure sensitivity but they lied, and/or I must’ve misread it, because it only has that for PCs to other PCs.
I’m really grateful this exists, it’s really good otherwise.
A lot of people have been begging for this feature for the past 6 years. Sales would skyrocket if this was implemented.

BUYER BEWARE, LAST UPDATE 2 YEARS AGO. Bought this to VPN into my local Mac from my iPad. Every time I drag-and-drop the connection crashes. Found one or two posts out there acknowledging the problem but the developer does not seem to prioritize this in any way (again, last update 2+ years ago). Clearly does not do one of the things it says in the description. Will be requesting a refund.

I have been trying to find an ideal way to remote into my Windows PC. This has more flexibility that the Windows (rpd) app, but is also not optimized for the AVP unfortunately. The multi-screen option is DOA because it letterboxes all screens to the aspect ratio of an “iPad”, making them hard to see. I hoped I could launch multiple connections to the same computer, but it seems not, a second connection disconnects the first. My magictrackpad works nominally, but still can only do cursor + two finger scroll. Pinching zooms on the rdp client, not the host regardless of input mode. I cannot get any other multi-touch input gestures working. They work with the trackpad connected directly to the PC and I hoped this would pass that through better than alternatives. I will definitely re-visit this app if improvements are made for the AVP. Very close to what I need.

doesn’t show the saved connections

this drains my phone battery like crazy even when in background. love using it but wish battery usage was more similar to realvpn. this works way better functionality wise but uses 5-10x the battery, still worth it but if it can be improved would be amazing

Honestly, I use this app all the time. I’ve been using it for probably 10 years. So far, I haven’t had any real issues that I need to complain about, but the fact that they have not updated the app in two years is a little nerve-racking. I hope I don’t have to switch but at some point I may have to if there is security issues or I can’t update the app anymore.

I rarely write reviews, but I’ve always struggled with using my Mac remotely from my iPhone, but finally I discovered Jump desktop on the Mac and bought the app worth every penny and signed in with Apple on both devices, dialed in some settings to my liking and it all just worked! Oh and I can’t believe how smooth it works, previously using remote pc, what a sluggish pos that was now that I can see how truly smooth it can be, I’m so happy and blown away!
