i've been using this app since i was a teenager living through my rough home life. as an adult the exact same rain loop has helped me so much. it's a no brainer app and it's worth paying for because it's one payment and not a reoccurring thing. it helps to have a reliable separate app rather then the MP3 loop. don't even know if this app is still updated, but it's helped me so much i plan to continue using it

I absolutely love the Rainy Mood app. Every soundscape is wonderful, from the ocean to the countryside—and the variety makes it easy to find the perfect atmosphere for any moment. I use it while studying, reading, or simply relaxing and unwinding. The customizable sound effects create a calm yet interesting backdrop that helps me stay focused without being distracting. It’s a beautifully designed app that makes it easy to bring a peaceful, immersive environment wherever you are.

The only thing that prevents me from giving the full 5 stars is the crickets in the countryside, it sounds more like a sustained pulse as opposed to crickets. But regardless, this really helps me sleep.

There are so many apps come and go on my phone but this one stays. So simple, easy to use, no ads, and can work as a background sound with other music apps. Fantastic!

Simple, like rain, but with a number of customizable features to fine tune the sound. Falling asleep when it’s raining or storming lends a unique quality of safety and depth to sleep. When that weather isn’t available, Rainy Mood can provide a surprisingly effective simulation. Highly recommended, with thanks to the developers.

I’ve been using rainy mood since about 2013 I think, my brother and I used to share a room and he’d turn his laptop on to this and I’d pass right out. Years and years of falling asleep to rain, now I’m 25 in ‘25 and in my own place, I require rainy mood to sleep to remind me of a time. Thank you, please never go anywhere.

Used it for a long time to sleep but they changed it to a loop every few minutes that restarts and now it stinks

I like the different settings and options. The noises can be played separately, which is nice when you don’t want to hear birds singing with your thunderstorm. One time payment was well worth it.

I have really bad tinnitus. This is the only free app that helps me get to sleep.

I’ve used this app more than any app on my phone. It’s like being rocked to sleep every night

I’ve always been a rainy day type person, any day could be made better by a bit of rain.
Unfortunately I live in an area where it only really rains consistently a few months out of the year, and it comes with the threat of flooding and tornadoes. And I live right next to a body of water, a creek in this case. If I got my wish my house would be under water.
So this little noise generator has all the benefits of rain sound without the property damage. Now if only it could replicate the scent of petrichor and make the air all foggy.
Pros:
- good for sleep
- good for meditation
- great for being at peace with myself and taming anxiety.
- no property damage
Cons:
- doesn’t produce the scent or moist feeling on the skin that you have when you’re walking around in a real storm
- wish it had an option for rain as if you were in a tent
- the non rain sounds like the birds and chatter are something I don’t really enjoy, but you can turn those off.
In all seriousness though, it’s a white noise generator and does that pretty well. I honestly just wish it had a few more settings. Like rain on a tent, or rain in a glass high rise. Or severe midwestern thunderstorm.

I love this app so much that every night I put it on and it makes me fall asleep in like 5 minutes and.I use this to also help me with my homework and sure enough I got all right.

This app is great for sleep and background noise to add ambience to music. I’ve been using it for years, totally worth the cost!

Seriously, won't connect to HomePods what the heck is that? Also birds? Give me a break man it's 1 AM. What's the expectation I'm gonna lay in bed as an end user all night long with my AirPods in? Better yet I'm gonna listen to this thunderous lightning crash on a quarter inch speaker out of my iPhone. Makes sense.

I struggle with anxiety and I can’t sleep in a room that’s complete silence because any tiny noise wakes me up then I can’t sleep for hours or at all. When it’s not in rain season here I miss the rain helping me sleep. This app has helped me for years drown out things around me so I can sleep and comforts me so much.

I’ve been using this app for years to sleep!!! But apparently today was the first time I decided to use my sleep headphones (the kind that look like a headband) while I take a nap. It changed the way everything sounded and was so much more real than just listening on my phones speaker! Idk why I’ve been so foolish! I know this will probably never happen, with the app being so old and the only one from this developer, but I now wish there were more tracks to immerse myself in! If somehow someone is just now looking at downloading this app, it’s so worth it, I promise.

Since the most recent update, either the app, or iOS, this app will no longer play when notifications are silenced. It used to work like music apps and play through silence mode. Also, it no longer continues to play when the screen turns off, making it useless to try and fall asleep to. Please fix this, I’ve used this app for YEARS to help me sleep on the bad days and I don’t want to lose it.

I love this app but can me get some updated rain sounds?
Meecie K • Oct 28, 2024
I love thunderstorms. This app is the most realistic I've found. I especially like that I can control the mix of sounds the way I choose. The timer is a nice feature.
Butter&beans • Sep 6, 2024
Yall should most definitely add bullfrog sounds to the “countryside” selection on the Rainy Mood app to make it sound more realistic ! Then, it would be perfect!
