Conduit: OpenWebUI Client
Conduit is the native Open WebUI client for iPhone and iPad. Connect to your own server, sign in with the auth flow your deployment already uses, and chat with your AI models in a fast, private mobile app built for self-hosted setups.
Highlights
- Real-time streaming chat with model selection, temporary chats, search, and folders
- File, image, audio, and clipboard uploads for multimodal prompts and RAG workflows
- Voice input, voice-call mode, share sheet, quick actions, home screen widgets, and Shortcuts
- Rich rendering for Markdown, code, LaTeX, Mermaid, Chart.js, citations, reasoning blocks, and tool calls
- Notes, saved prompts, channels, and other Open WebUI features when your server supports them
Built for real deployments
- Sign in with username/password, LDAP, JWT, OAuth/SSO, reverse-proxy flows, and custom HTTP headers
- Secure credential storage in Keychain
- No ads, no analytics SDKs, and no developer-operated relay server
Important
- Requires your own Open WebUI server. Conduit does not host models or provide an AI service.
- Available features depend on the Open WebUI instance you connect.
- Conduit is open source and is not officially affiliated with the Open WebUI project.

It runs smoothly and is easy to setup if your Open WebUI is setup correctly. The devs did an amazing job! My only wish is that web search would stay on all the time. It’s gets disabled every time I close and reopen the app.

My server is behind Cloudflare zero trust and I use service credential headers to authenticate. These are supported but the app forgets them so they have to be constantly recopied, which is a pain.

I have access to a pretty beefy server, but didn’t really use it from my phone because the mobile PWA is goofy.
I like that this app collects no data, and surfaces your models very easily.
There’s a good chunk of settings that are omitted in OWUI, but that reduction is what makes this so clean.
Nice work, thank you for keeping it simple.

Routing from my iPhone using Tailscale to Conduit and OpenWeb UI on my server I’ve had very stable results. Some rendering issues with choosing a specific knowledge base in OpenWeb but sure that is a bug on their end for mobile.

This is much better tha the default PWA version. Tool calling works, and the theme customization is a very nice feature. However, there are no action function buttons in this version, and markdown table on this app also doesn’t have line wrap just like the WPA version. If the author can add these then the app is a clear 5/5 for me

Much prefer this to creating a web app shortcut!
It plays nice with Tailscale and other than that it just works. The skin options are cool too :)
Only feedback I have is it seems like you’re unable to attach knowledge bases to conversations or view/manage memories.

Unfortunately, every time I launch this app and load up a new chat. It crashes immediately.
The model loads up and it processes the output, but I can’t see the result on this app since it crashes.
It’s unfortunate - please fix.

I would appreciate an option in the settings to toggle the visibility of the model selector and title at the top. My goal is to focus purely on the dialogue with the AI, and currently, these header elements make the interface feel overly cluttered.

Good

Would love to try it but my instance is behind an oidc oauth provider (authelia) and it wont redirect to the oauth login. Perhaps a toggle to indicate oauth so when login is clicked it just redirects there

Didn’t work when I installed it. Gave it a one star. Hours later it works. If my review triggered the fix, that’s impressive turnaround

This is a great and easy companion app for OWUI. Originally I thought it was released by the OWUI team. But the developer took effort to make this app easy to use. Hope to see more features added to the app in the future. Already you can do web search, knowledge base query and mcp tool connect. I hope he can somehow make this to be like a local ai agent where I can send queries to the app and be more like an assistant.
SaaS Metrics
If the Dev can resolve and I can actually use it, I’ll change the review.
