The app is not intuitive. It doesn’t recognize any of your credentials when you login after the initial login. After you’ve set it up with all your credentials (username and password) .. you’re in but if you logged out and try logging in again, it tells you that your credentials are invalid. Take it from me, you’ll have to create new credentials each time you want to use this app.

Not a fan of the blueprint app but Zelle has finally been added to Amex business checking! Business checking has been added to native Amex app! Two super great additions. Love.

This company is not American Express. It regularly allows fraudulent charges on your account and will make you pay for them while they steal interest in the money they allowed to be taken from you. Don’t put money in an account with these people. They hope you’ll never call them.

La Peor cuenta que puedes tener para tu negocio es con Amex . 🤦🏻♂️

As I’m receiving data breach notices weekly, I’m beyond fed up with banks pretending SMS codes = security. What you should be demanding instead of phone numbers/emails is serious passkey authentication (e.g. Yubikey). SMS is the surest way to expose customers to SIM swaps and other identity theft while protecting the bank itself from liability. Also, my social security # shouldn’t be appearing online, even if partially masked unless you’re asking for a breach. I should be able to change my username as well as my password to more secure versions. Beyond the egregious security flaws, usability needs help also. It shouldn’t take 10 minutes to send one payment because your system allows me to choose a non-business day, then rejects it all the way at the Submit stage. If it’s not available then gray it out. And don’t make me complete the same information 5 times by generating an error when my submission is denied. I like my business account but your app needs help.

Keeps disconnecting from my bank. Very glitchy

This app is much worse than the Amex credit card app. Why? When I moved from Wells Fargo to Amex for business checking, I assumed a company as massive as Amex would have an unquestionably good app experience. NOT the case.
Some customer-focused improvements I recommend the developers consider involve deposits and transfers. I tried to schedule a transfer today—a Saturday—but after filling in all the info and submitting, I get a notification that I can’t schedule a deposit on a non-business day. What?! For one: there’s no option to select the transfer date. That would be helpful, but so would just letting me complete the transfer and just notifying me afterwards that it will be delayed until the next business day? Now I have to remember to make this same effort again (not easy with my ADHD brain).
Also when depositing checks: please let go of the silly rule to write “for deposit only to aenb bank”.
When a check is deposited, I want to see that reflected in my pending balance, and I want to see the completed transaction details immediately. What’s with the delay? And I like to write the transaction number on a check the moment the upload confirmation appears—but this app doesn’t give me that, so I have to hunt around for it afterwards. That info plus a deposit date and an expected funds date would be lovely to show on the completed deposit screen.
I’m only a month into my move from Wells Fargo to Amex, and now I’m wondering if saving $10/month in fees is worth it. Maybe I’ll try one of the “non-bank” business banks, for no fees but better technology.

The app is slowed down frequently when using different features and goes through time-consuming gyrations
thecasualguy • Jul 30, 2025
FIRST let’s start with the fact that you are not able to transfer to your Amex personal checking or savings account so no way to pay yourself unless you have a third party bank, SECOND the app keeps forcing two factor authentication almost every time you try to log in which gets extremely annoying very quickly, THIRD issue is, there’s no way to allow push notifications it just shows a blank white screen, and FINALLY, the app is just broken and laggy, it takes twice as long to get into the app once you get past the two factor authentication, when you try to copy the account number or routing number the app crashes. This is NOT the American Express I expect and I don’t recommend anyone getting this app until they fix all these issues and it seems they have a long way to go.

After “ sign out “, stop face recognition. That is annoying

Download the app when it first came out years ago.
Deposit notifications use to work, loved seeing the blue Amex photo pop across the screen.
It’s been 2 years since notifications stopped working.
I have to manually long in to see if I got deposits from Shopify.
I thought maybe it was my phone so I deleted the app and nope… downloaded & logged in on my other Apple devices (3 of them) nope same thing.
Hopefully it’s something y’all can fix

The app is somewhat useless because why isn’t there an option to receive notifications? When a deposit hits I should get a notification. When an expense is made I should have the option for a notification. Amex is behind the ball with this

This very basic feature doesn’t work. Tried several times. Every time, app says image is good and shows success but when submitting, show a message saying check is damaged. Called customer service and they couldn’t help either. Was asked to mail the check.

This app doesn’t do much in terms of functionality and the little it does it does poorly. It doesn’t see all my accounts, it doesn’t show all my transactions, it glitches continuously.
Baller6996 • May 9, 2025
Absolutely terrible app. Glitches out every 10 seconds and if you try to make a payment from an Amex checking account to an Amex credit card it will shoot you out of the app and not even work.
Yeeters101 • Apr 29, 2025
I know this will get lost in the nether, but Amex will charge you for things and refuse to work with you on things when you try to address them. I will be removing the bank accounts and cards from Amex and going elsewhere.

This is not a traditional business line of credit. It’s a cash flow gap product still under the direction of Kabbage leadership — which means a bent towards fraud and predatory practices/fees. Do your business, its interest expense, and its servicing a favor and secure a real line of credit from a reputable source who is seasoned in the business credit space. Amex has done nothing to get this offering in line with their traditional offerings, meaning: outstanding service and fair-practices. Amex has much to do to clean up this acquisition of Kabbage — which is the idea/decision-making of current CEO, Stephen Squeri. These two brands are polar opposites.

Is the same team who develop and manage the Amex credit card app in charge of the Blueprint app? The CC app is 100x better. I’m tired of have to reenable the biometric sign on feature, authenticate as if it were a new device I am signing on from and when I select remember this device and give it a name, I literally have to do the same all over again when I sign in again. It is very annoying and I hope a fix is provided soon.
