Zmodo has lost its moral compass and now supports unscrupulous pop ups and advertising. My elderly father in law had a predatory ad pop up that said his device was hacked and charges were made to his account. It scared him so much he went to the bank to secure his accounts. They tried to convince him his accounts were not breached but he no longer trusted the Zmodo app. He proceeded to the US Cellular store to have his device checked and the Zmodo app removed.
Zmodo products are supposed to bring peace of mind but they now bring anxiety questionable ethics. This company has lost its ethics and I will not be renewing my cloud subscription. I’ve been a satisfied user for years but it’s clearly time to switch to a new platform that doesn’t promote sketchy content.

This app used to be good. Now I have to fight a barrage of ads before I can even see who’s driving up my driveway or at my door. Absolute garbage.

why the heck am i getting ads now when i pay for your service?! If i need to quickly jump in and see something i have to wait for an ad to finish. that’s not right if i’m paying for this service

I have used this app for years. I have 5 cameras, both inside and outside my home because I have people and pets at home that I HAVE to check on while I’m at work. The delay to watch an ad makes this very frustrating and defeats the whole purpose of a security camera system. We may be switching to something else soon.
Update: currently looking for a new system.

TRASHED - I’ve had several of these cameras for years and have recommended them to others. They now show adds and commercials before you can view live feed defeating the purpose of live view. It is a safety issue for children and anyone who relies on a camera view when needed. I am in the process of replacing these and seeking forgiveness from friends and family.

I wish I can give this app 0 star, it is overloaded with ads and constantly freezes even after you sit through the advertisements. The user experience is terrible. What a joke for a security camera company, honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if this company faced legal action over these deceptive and frustrating practices.

You now get to see ads on the app before you can see your own videos. Replacing 13 cameras soon. Trash.

I’ve had my devices for over 5 years , dealt with crashes here & there which is normal you know , but this year they updated & introduced ADS , now it’s a lot longer to actually see footage you need to see ASAP because you need to exit out of ads & pop ups … I have to wait for the ads to be over , click out of 5 pop ups & then be able to use the app…
Zmodo I’ve been using these cameras for years & I maybe ending my subscription this year …

What’s with all the advertisements.. get rid of them.. takes forever to get past some of the ads before it will even let you tap anything that isn’t adspace

In the recent update the app plays annoying adds at full volume before you can check your cameras, even for paid subscribers. Totally unacceptable.

Why would you put ads on cameras. I need to see what’s going on in my house but I have to look at ads?? Wtf

I have to go buy all new cameras from a different company because their ads make the app unusable when you need it most. I get a motion alert from a place that shouldn’t have motion at that time, I panic to go look but oh wait I gotta watch an ad for 5 seconds, oh even better they put the “X” button on top of a take me to see more about this ad button and I have to wait for that to load to exit out of that then try to exit out of the previous ad video after 5 more seconds. Absolutely idiotic. You would think oh I pay ANOTHER monthly subscription and not deal with this, nope! You can tell none of the devs or people making decisions trust or use their own cameras because they would immediately realize how terrible and unusable looking at your cameras when there is an unexpected motion alert. I now get to spend a significant amount of time to evaluate other camera brands to make sure they’ve already made it past what is only the stupidest as decision and implementation I’ve ever seen.
Congrats, this camera app has killed its self. Killed your own company. Any recommendations on another camera brand??

i have had two cameras for over 3 years and have been happy with service. However, recent app updates has added too many Ads that dont allow viewing the cameras quickly. Its fustrating that app forces you to watch ads despite paying for the service.

Since the last update there have been ads added in when you launch the app. Many times there is not a way to get out of the ad to access the app.

Very Disappointed privacy Doesn’t seem to function at all other Apps have access to just throw there ads while I open to see my cámaras it feels very uncomfortable that they nearly obligate you to Download other apps it’s Insane definitely getting rid of these Zmodo cámaras waist of Money.
