would update to 5 stars if I could put my boards into folders. love the app but I make a lot of boards and it's really annoying to have to scroll through them to find one. original quality exports would also be great

I feel broken by this app
aaronct123 • Jul 7, 2023
The description mentions importing via iCloud, but that apparently that just means being able to add things from there via the file browser. Was under the impression everything would carry over from my iPad and honestly wouldn’t have purchased this version if I’d known.

Use app on both iphone and ipad. Would be nice if they synced. But more than usable as it is.

I want to have access to the same assortments on both my iPad and iPhone (basically syncing) I can see a way to do this by introducing an accounts function so the data would be connected. Maybe there can be a button to see your other device’s galleries and access them that way, I don’t know! Also want to be able to scribble on photos!

I use this app extensively on iPad and iPhone.
it’s the closest thing to pure ref which is the PC counterpart. I do have one minor complaint: The app seems to be missing a multi select feature. there doesn’t seem to be a way to move around groups of images at a time. I have searched around and cannot find a solution That really slows down my creative process, as I needed to be able to manipulate images with similar concepts or elements. But if this feature were to be added in a future update I will gladly add the last star to this review

I bought this to use in procreate pocket to only figure out it doesn’t work

This app is awesome! I have both the iPad and iPhone versions, and they have been amazing! The iPad version almost makes me wonder how I ever did art without it. I’m really glad I got both. Really nice, easy to use, great app. For me the following will make it a definite 5star (personal preference) 1) Auto lock(sleep) prevention When I want to use the app while working on another device, you have to toggle your setting to stop the phone from auto locking, and going black. I know it’s a small thing, but it can het annoying + I worry that I will forget to turn the setting back on. I hope they implement this soon. (Maybe only while the eye icon(?) is on? Especially since there are no multi task features on the phone) 2) Multiple import from files I can import multiple photos, but not from files(you can on iPad with multi task). Now I import file to photos first, as a work around. It’s not a dealbreaker, but would be nice. 3) Syncing option I feel an iCloud sync option, would be really nice. Or an export board function? Sometimes you spend a lot of time arranging your boards, or you update a board on 1 device, but have to do it all again to have the same items on your other device.

I can’t get the export to work. It just freezes up.

I’ve used VizRef for a while now, and I had written favorably as well the last time I reviewed this app. I want to add an additional review after the current update.

The iPad version of VizRef is CONSTANTLY open in split view alongside Procreate when I work. It’s almost become an extension of Procreate for me. The iPhone version is also a great option when I want a separate reference screen. The app is simple to use and very effective at what it’s built to do. I use this app to help keep my comics more consistent by collecting references and my previous drawings of characters or scenes all in one place. The in-app greyscale filter is invaluable. Also love that I can crop images within the app, and pause GIFs to look at specific frames. Another nice touch is that the app background more or less matches the background in Procreate. This adds to the feeling that the apps are part of each other, and keeps it from feeling distracting or visually busy.

The last update just made this already excellent app even better by adding some ways to export and save boards, which means I now have a way to backup all of my compiled references. This is WONDERFUL and about the only feature I have been missing. Thank you for creating such an excellent tool for artists! 😃👏👏👏

The app itself is simple and easy to use and meets most of my needs, but AFAICT reference boards are saved locally to the device on which they are created and there is no way to copy or sync boards between iPhone and iPad. iCloud support would make both apps 5 stars and well worth the price for both.

Really simple app that gets the job done perfectly. Building a reference board is very easy and quick. All very intuitive. Only thing is I wish is that boards synced between the iPad and iPhone.

So great all the photos when batch importing don’t lay on each other, strange you have to flip the hd switch to have images imported in HD happy it’s there just strangers it’s not just on. It does works, strangely “HD” photos I get from bing or google still show up pixelated but that could be the photo itself and not the app, the app does brighten the images imported, when compare from In app and the photos app. Found rotating accidentally should be a icon like the flip or b/w filter and then rotate from there, also I would like to be able to rotate individual images and not just the whole board, aside from that I do like the intuitive rotating gesture just needs a better spot or icon, sadly can’t do multiple select, love the new eye icon being apart to move around the board without any of the ui, still solid fluid stable app just like before still highly recommend

Was great while it was working. Not sure what happened but now it’s constantly crashing on both iPhone and iPad.

I wanted to use this app on my iPad pro to help with drawing, but unfortunately, it doesn’t work with the split screen function that I so heavily rely on. If they added compatibility with this function to a future update I would probably reconsider my review.
