Please reintroduce the rounded corners back into the video so it matches everything else.

Has worked near perfectly for a few years now. Adds a lot of functionality to the youtube player. It’s much better to have the skip 10 seconds buttons available without being in full screen. The only problem is over the last month for me there has been a buffer at the beginning of most videos.

I tested it out by disabling Vinegar, and there was no buffer on the default player. Vinegar classic also has it’s own quirks and issues with youtube so I prefer Vinegar instead. I’m hoping this can be fixed in an update at some point. Still a great extension.

I have gifted this app to ppl bc it makes YT such a better experience. You run into some wonkiness here and there but it’s always resolved and the tradeoff is so worth it, and this app is well worth its modest price.

Vinegar was working as advertised few months ago but it no longer is functional, can’t go to widescreen mode on videos unless in desktop version, A.I voices are constantly on even when feature is turned on to ignore, video quality varies even when set to a specific quality. When the extension does what it’s supposed to do it’s great but that’s pretty rare, updates don’t do anything.

Doesn't work at all on iPad. Video plays then you can't use any of the controls!

Pip doesn't work in regular and classic version, also all the videos auto play during scrolling and no option to turn that off. Background audio seems to work randomly.

I have been critical of Vinegar (and also Baking Soda) over the years due to various software hiccups along the way. I also still have reservations about the macOS equivalent which I don’t really use anymore. However, when I really step back to consider how vital this extension is for me I have to honestly give it high marks. It has allowed me to escape the nauseating barrage of ads and the privacy minefield that come with the official YouTube app and it also makes using the mobile site in Safari a cleaner, more convenient experience. Right now everything works great: resolution settings are maintained, no real playback issues, PNP MiniPlayer works, etc. Since I do use an ad blocker I cannot say how effective Vinegar is on its own at blocking YouTube video ads but I can say that I haven’t seen one in ages.

Even though I feel the macOS version is a bit problematic, I bought this bundle some years ago which came with universal versions of both Vinegar and Baking Soda and it has brought me way more value than I initially paid.

This guy does not know how to code, so much so that I had to completely disable the Vinegar Extension across ALL of my iOS/iPadOS Devices. He’s released a ton of pointless updates from the past months that are not actually addressing the problems/bugs that he, himself created.

For Example: Audio goes entirely MUTE after Ads finish playing on iPad. When entering PiP on iPhone, audio on the YouTube video also goes entirely MUTE. The only fixes are to completely refresh the page, thus losing your spot on the video; or, disable Vinegar Extension on Safari.

This app does not work been months

This app works wonderfully to transform YouTube’s custom JavaScript player to a standard HTML5 , allowing native niceties like PiP and background play. As with any app of this nature, it’s in a cat-and-mouse game with YouTube who want to control the experience and disallow native controls. As of YouTube’s latest big update, Vinegar is somewhat broken on iOS (videos play, but no controls are shown). The developer is usually pretty prompt with fixes so this is more a heads-up for them that something needs fixing. Keep up the great work!
