Community Voice & Feedback
I set up my profile and ended up having to read and take multiple quizzes, which I do not want. I just wanted to watch videos and learn that way
The site is not very intuitive. It’s difficult to navigate if you go off story.
I really don’t leave reviews, but this company or app is just a big scam. It’s so crazy that they are able to get away with advertising certain content and providing completely different materials. I’m having to have my bank resolve my issue with Paladin because there system is set up to scam people from their money. My Apple acct shows I’m on a free trial, but Paladin has charged me for a whole year. The only way Paladin will refund is if you reach out to Apple, and it shows I’m on a trial so I can’t even request a refund.
The app is nothing like the little cartoons in the ads that made me want to get it. I learned more from the ads and lost interest in the app.
4 stars, simple cause I’m picky. I wish the stories were like the ads I get, little figures and the narrator etc. I got hooked on those, only ads I’d sit n watch so kudos! Overall, even if you don’t subscribe you get your time worth it from this app. Short, simple, catchy. Great app.
They have gamified how to learn history … and it’s a blast. I wish they taught history this way when I was a kid.
I don’t recall committing to $140, but that’s what I was charged. I remember seeing an interesting video as ad but then the app had a lot of reading. I would like a refund and I don’t see a way to request it.
I have tried to obtain a refund from Paladin for a recent accidental renewal and the company has denied this request. I haven’t used it outside of once during the intro period. The product seems pretty good but not sure why the company could see that it hasn’t been used and simply provide my refund back.
App is NOTHING like the ads. Terrible, boring narration… lazy AI generated graphics. Don’t waste your time
I really wanted to give this app a fair try, but unfortunately I never even got the chance to meaningfully use it. The initial setup process was really long, and I didn’t have the time to sit and set it up in one go. Before I had even gotten through enough of it to actually try the service, I realized I had already been charged after the “trial.”
What frustrated me the most was how difficult it was to figure out how to cancel. It took me quite a while just to find the cancellation option, just because I didn’t “purchase” through Apple (it was through Instagram and then maybe Paladin directly?). And when I contacted customer service and explained that I hadn’t really used the service, they still wouldn’t refund the charge. Instead, I was offered a bundle of other services that I don’t need instead of giving me a refund.
I understand that companies have refund policies, but the combination of a difficult cancellation process, being charged for something I barely had the opportunity to try, and then not being able to get a refund left a really bad impression. If purchased through Apple, things might have been better, but who really knows, I didn’t even get a “you signed up” email or any reminder that I had a trial, which feels super scammy. I wish they would make the trial and cancellation process more transparent and straightforward for customers.

I enjoyed some of the stories and features of the app, but the stories are not at all the way they appear in the advertisements.
Paywalling knowledge is gross and absolutely shameful.
Do it high
All art is AI generated, they could’ve employed real artists but used AI instead. All narration is AI generated; they could employed real voice actors instead. The stories themselves seem AI generated, I’m sure they could’ve employed real historical authors instead. Not worth money, it’s all AI slop
Just letting others know, in case you forget the 7 day trial - they are unwilling to do same day refunds as the charge!
