I wasted so much money for it to not even allow me to message!!

This app should be banned. It's that bad. Deposited money but it still says I don't have sufficient balance to send a message. The menus and functionality are disturbingly bad, like written by a person with a 70 IQ bad.

This app is great for keeping in contact with my incarcerated son. BUT, it is also a major pain. Our messages go to pending, which means the recipient can’t read the message until it’s approved. There is no rhyme or reason to them going to pending. The short replies, nothing out of the ordinary, go to pending. Longer messages, with noting you would think would send up a red flag… go to pending. Each message costs 20-25 cents. Doesn’t sound like a lot, but they add up. I wonder if gtl is just trying to make more $$ by pending all these messages. And if you are having a conversation and all the sudden the message start pending, it really messes it up. I don’t like it, but I do, at least we have some contact.

I downloaded app, deposited $ to my account for messages. App wont allow me to send messages. Keeps telling me $0 balance even though there is $ on account. Sent email to support but no reply going into the third day. If this is what state of Va went to I would suggest going back to jpay as it worked.

I’ve had the app for 4 days and only been able to send two or three messages because the dang verification has to be done so often and takes 24-72- “business hours”. It’s a shame..

The app is terrible like TERRIBLE honestly the should’ve stuck with securus.. the video calling is shaped like an egg so they can’t even see your whole face or anything in the back nobody can get in the camera you move your out the camera can’t put anything in the camera it’s really over priced for what they give you it’s useless and they are just taking money at this point and you can’t talk to anyone who knows any real answers when you block someone they are technically still on there and can still look at messages… upgrade the app if your going to charge so much for poor quality and not even that you guys went up on the cost smh

This app is extremely confusing When trying to set up and not clear on what or where the money is going at first, which can lead to people putting a larger amount of money on the wrong account and then still having to put money on the inmate account. And having to deal with requesting a refund.

This should have been tested better before releasing it. I hope they do an update soon because this is infuriating.

Redownloaded this in an attempt to communicate with loved one after gtl phone lines continue to not work, and I was reminded why I deleted this app in the first place. It’s expensive, unreliable, and customer support does not resolve. Truly, just put money on their account to talk on the phone instead of wasting money through this app.

Automatically logged me out and had my account suspended.. is the system stupid?

Continually crashes. Won’t take funds. Always having to sign back up. Glitches daily. Horrible experience but my guess is they don’t care because well, it won’t affect them either way you don’t have a choice.

In my experience, GettingOut/GTL feels like it takes advantage of families who are simply trying to stay connected with their loved ones. The fees add up quickly, the service can be frustrating, and getting real help from customer support is difficult. Families affected by incarceration already carry enough emotional and financial stress without being charged so much just to communicate. Staying in touch with loved ones should be affordable, reliable, and treated with dignity — not turned into another burden. I hope this company listens to families, lowers the costs, improves the service, and treats people better. It doesn’t even deserve any stars they prey on poor people.

I’m a Chaplain and I use this app to work with inmates in several different states. It’s taken my money and when I try to send a message it says no funds available. I call customer service and they tell me funds are available! This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable!! How many more complaints do you need to fix it?
