A CLI program to convert and modify bookmark files, addressing the pain point of batch editing bookmarks across devices without direct browser database modification.
This Common Lisp CLI tool addresses a common user pain point: managing and editing bookmarks across multiple browsers and devices. By supporting standard formats like JSON and Netscape, it provides a flexible solution for batch operations that are often cumbersome or impossible within browser interfaces. The emphasis on easy filter extension suggests a design for customizability, catering to power users and developers. While niche, this tool highlights the ongoing need for utilities that provide granular control over personal data, especially when default application functionalities are restrictive. It demonstrates the value of specialized tools for data management.
Small cli program I made to convert and modify bookmark files. Supports converting between json and netscape bookmark file format (default formatted exported by chrome/firefox).I created this because I have a lot of bookmarks across devices that I want to batch edit/delete and I can't always just directly modify the local browser db.Not many filters implemented so far, but I made it easy to add filters see: https://github.com/ediw8311xht/cl-bookmark-tool/blob/main/sr...
