Community Voice & Feedback
Paying per email always felt odd to me. Once you're sending a decent amount, the bill grows faster than the actual work. Paying SES rates directly makes a lot more sense.
Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Kamal, and I build opensend.cc.
Every product sends email, but almost none of them own it. Your mail goes through someone else's platform. You pay for every email, some features cost extra, and your domain's reputation is in someone else's hands.
opensend.cc is the other way. It's a complete email platform that runs on your server and sends through your own AWS account.
What's in v0.1.0:
• REST API and SDK, plus SMTP
• Domains with guided DKIM, SPF and DMARC setup
• Every email tracked, from sent to clicked
• Broadcasts, templates, automations, audiences, webhooks and logs
• An MCP server, so AI agents can send email too
Install it on any server with Docker:
curl -fsSL https://opensend.cc/install.sh | sh
Already on Resend? The API is compatible. Change the import and the key, and your sends stay the same.
It's Apache-2.0 and free. You pay AWS for sending ($0.10 per 1,000 emails on SES) and you pay for your own server. That's it.
I'd love to hear what you would need before you move your app's email to it. I'm here all day to answer questions.
