Community Voice & Feedback
This is great, Shawn. Would love to put it in front of my founders.
quickbooks has TERRIBLE reporting. Plus for small business owners, often times their personal finances are heavily intertwined with their business finances. Bringing them all into one unified system is the best way to get a handle on your money as a small business owner!
@shawn_cao Can i manage my personal and business finances in one place? How easy is it to set everything up?
Can you manage the multiple businesses with separate profit and loss reports for each one , or are the reports combined ?
Congrats Shawn! The separate profiles for different businesses caught my eye, especially with bookkeeping and invoices in the same place. Can you share just one business profile with an accountant while keeping the others private?
The multi profile setup is the reason I would try this over a plain accounting app. Keeping a side project and the main business apart without paying for two tools is exactly the mess I am in right now! My question is about the categorization: when it learns from how I tag a transaction, does it apply that only inside the profile I was working in, or can a rule from my business profile leak into the personal one? Getting that boundary wrong would be a bad surprise at tax time.
Looks great, but is it US only?
Shawn, keeping separate business profiles alongside personal finances makes sense for a founder with more than one project. Nice to see the ledger and reports fit into that existing setup. Congrats on Fina Business!
Custom categories are a lifesaver because every business tracks money differently and pre set defaults always fall short.
Switching between business and personal accounts on the same dashboard without constantly signing back in saves so much daily friction.
Notion spreadsheets have been my main setup for tracking cash flow just to avoid stiff software so i definitely try this out today.
How does Fina make double-entry accounting less complicated for non-accountants? Are there founders who don’t even have to deal with debits and credits but an accountant still sees the entire ledger?Btw, Congratulations @shawn_cao and team Fina Business 🎊✌️
haha same here quickbooks is such a pain once it starts getting cluttered glad you caught this right when you needed it.
am super curious about data privacy here are financial accounts linked via plaid or a proprietary API integration?
Double entry accounting usually gets super messy when scaling past a few employees. Does fina support role based permisiions for external accountants yet?
