honestly i was skeptical about latency for interactive browser windows but the demo looks super responsive.

Really cool! would it work with Davinci on a headless mac studio? A friend of mine recently started using claude with davinci on a dedicated mac studio. For cutting movies etc. As Davinci's MCP integration became really good recently. Do you think he could benefit from this?

how does it handle resource usage on the client Mac when you have 4 to 5 heavy remote app window open at once?

Congrats Hiten and Sam on the launch. Running agents on a headless Mac mini is exactly where Screen Sharing gets clunky, so getting one window into Cmd-Tab makes a lot of sense. Curious how it handles an app on the mini that pops a modal or opens a new window mid-task: does that new window beam over automatically, or do I go back to the picker for it?

This is interesting. I've just bought a fully specced MacBook Pro to run a local agent, and given what it cost I'm nervous about carrying it around. If Beam is as slick as it looks, it could stay safely at home doing the work while I use it from another Mac. What's the latency like over Tailscale, and how much bandwidth does it need?

does this stream audio as well? like if a remote browser session plays a sound notification so i hear iton my local Mac?

Does it stay smooth with things like Terminal, browser and other apps all open together?

Congrats @hnshah & team :)

i have been using standard screen sharing to manage my Mac Studio workflows but the lag and single window setup was always annoying. definitely giving this a shot

I keep a Mac mini sitting in my closet for heavy AI builds so bringing those windows onto my Macbook natively with Dock icons is huge.

Hey Product Hunt, Hiten here.My setup has gotten a little weird. I've got Macs running agents and local models, with work continuing even when nobody's sitting in front of them.Sometimes I just want to check a Terminal, open a browser, or use an app on one of those machines. Getting there usually means opening Screen Sharing and navigating a whole second desktop.Sam and I have been working on Beam to make this easier. With Beam, you pick a window on another Mac and it opens alongside the apps on the Mac you're using. It gets its own Dock icon and a place in ⌘Tab. You can type into it and resize it like a normal window. You can also move files between Macs and hear the app's audio. The app itself keeps running on its original machine. When one window isn't enough, Beam lets you open an entire screen or the whole Mac.I'm especially excited about using Beam with headless Mac minis and Studios. They can keep running agents and other work while I use their apps from whichever Mac I'm sitting in front of.Beam works on Apple silicon Macs running Sonoma or later. You can connect over your local network or through Tailscale, with encrypted connections directly between Macs. It's available now and free to try for 20 minutes every day. Download it at Beam.win.A few weeks ago I asked people on X to show me their weird multi-Mac setups. The thread got over 100 replies, and I've loved seeing what everyone has built. One thing I've become fascinated by is the Mac nobody sits in front of.If you have one, what do you still need to open Screen Sharing for?
