Research Abstract & Technology Focus

Artificial intelligence (AI) may be referred to as a family of technologies which allow computers and other machines to perform the tasks that were previously dependent on human intelligence. In order to perform the tasks autonomously, the machines learn from large volumes of input data and involve the use of machine learning algorithms. It attempts to mimic the process of human learning in which a person gradually develops knowledge and skills by continuous trial and error method. Due to the ability of AI to perform intelligent tasks, it finds a number of opportunities for application in diverse fields including plant sciences. In this chapter, let us try to gain a basic understanding of artificial intelligence and its applications with special reference to plant sciences.
