Development of Ware Inventory: A Web-Based Warehouse Inventory Management System

Research Abstract & Technology Focus

Although various studies have successfully developed web-based inventory systems or implemented the Agile Scrum method, most research still focuses on the separate digitization of inventory data management or warehouse transactions (Wijaya et al., 2026; Adelia & Handayani, 2025; Lisa et al., 2025; Prandiska & Nataliani, 2025). The integration of warehouse operational processes—such as goods management, receiving, dispatching, and Stocktaking—into a single system has not yet been comprehensively discussed. Furthermore, the implementation of Agile Scrum in previous studies has generally focused more on the software development process, while discussions regarding the integration of inventory modules to support comprehensive warehouse business processes remain limited.Given these circumstances, this study developed the Ware Inventory system—a web-based warehouse inventory management system that integrates the Goods, Receiving, Dispatching, and Stocktaking modules using the Agile Scrum methodology. Development was conducted iteratively through several sprints based on a Product Backlog compiled from the evaluation results of the Ware Inventory system, ensuring that each feature could be developed and refined gradually. To ensure the quality of the developed system, testing was conducted using Black Box Testing to verify that all system functions operate in accordance with functional requirements (Samdono et al., 2024). This study is expected to produce a more integrated, effective, and efficient warehouse inventory management system, as well as contribute to the application of the Agile Scrum methodology in the development of inventory information systems.
