Research Abstract & Technology Focus

The access to improved seed and other planting materials in developing countries is potential tool to increase agricultural productivity. Plant tissue culture technology is primarily used for Micro-Propagating Banana cultivars including INJAGI and FHIA17 to break through the potential problem of Blackening/browning around the base of banana explant as well as the media and low growth and multiplication rate. MS basal medium consecutively supplemented with Benzyl-amino purine (BAP), Sucrose, Ascorbic Acid, Gelrite and PH before Autoclaving at 1.03bar for 15-20 minutes is successful during banana cultivars invitro propagation including but not limited to Injagi. Key words: PH units drop, Phenolic compounds, Subculture interval, autoclave calibration, Relative growth rate mean and Multiplication rate
