Research Abstract & Technology Focus

Abstract: Extreme power densities in post-CMOS and hyperscale artificial intelligence compute architectures have pushed reactive liquid cooling mechanisms to their physical limits. This paper explores three next-generation thermal management paradigms - Predictive Phase Change Materials (PCM), Phononic Waveguides, and Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) Liquid Metal Propulsion - through the analytical framework of Data Physics. First, isothermal buffering via Phase Change Materials is evaluated, demonstrating that transient thermal shock absorption requires algorithmic coordination between workload scheduling and the structural relaxation cycles of the gel matrix. Second, ballistic thermal transport via phononic waveguides is analyzed as a solid-state mechanism bypassing fluid transport entirely through nanocrystalline phonon propagation. Third, solid-state MHD pumps utilizing liquid metal alloys are examined, proving that zero-inertia Lorentz force propulsion demands preemptive activation correlated with computational bursts to prevent hydrodynamic stress and structural degradation. Synthesizing these paradigms reveals a fundamental physical law: as mechanical inertia is eliminated and replaced by electromagnetic or phase-change forces, thermal management becomes unconditionally dependent on anticipatory cyber-physical coupling. Hardware mechanics and software execution irreducibly merge, validating the Data Physics model wherein the physical state of the cooling substrate is predictively governed by impending computational workloads.
