Native integration with Apple Passwords/iCloud Keychain.

Technical Positioning
Seamless macOS ecosystem integration and competitive parity with Safari regarding password management. The product aims to be a viable "Safari replacement."
SaaS Insight & Market Implications
The lack of native Apple Passwords integration is a critical barrier for `Search` positioning itself as a "real Safari replacement." Users expect seamless password management within the macOS ecosystem. The current reliance on a problematic Chrome extension, characterized by PIN looping and authentication failures, creates significant user friction. The discovery that `Search` is an "accepted parent" for Apple's helper, and the existence of an official Apple allowlist process, indicate a clear path for direct Swift integration. This is not merely a feature request but a fundamental requirement for competitive parity and user adoption on macOS. Solving this would significantly enhance `Search`'s value proposition, reducing reliance on cumbersome workarounds and improving the core user experience for security and convenience.

Apple Password support

Currently, if I'm using Safari, apple passwords automatically prompts and lets me login (via passkey / password) once it detects a website.

Search currently does not have this feature
Is it possible to have this in sync with the apple passwords app?

Thank you!

tried this with iCloud Passwords chrome extension, there was [another issue](https://github.com/driceroland/Search/issues/2) which got resolved, but the auth doesn't work, after I add the pin, it immediately asks me to enter the pin again

+1 — Native iCloud Passwords would make Search feel like a real Safari replacement for me. A few findings in case they help: **Search can already launch Apple’s helper.** `PasswordManagerBrowserExtensionHelper` has parent launch constraints — when launched from Terminal or a script, the kernel SIGKILLs it (exit 137). Launched by Search 1.0.1 through the iCloud Passwords extension’s `connectNative`, it starts normally and shows the verification code. So Search is an accepted parent, which opens the door to talking to the helper directly from Swift, without an extension: pair once in Settings with the 6-digit code, then show iCloud Keychain accounts in Search’s own sign-in list the way Safari does. That’s the integration I’d love to see. **Why the extension loops on the PIN** (hypothesis, not confirmed). It seems similar to the issue above: the code is accepted, then it immediately asks again. I saw the helper get relaunched by Search twice within a minute during pairing attempts. In `...

It looks like Apple has an official process for adding third-party browsers to the iCloud Passwords allowlist: https://github.com/apple/password-manager-resources Their README says browser developers can open an issue or PR to request support. Could this be a possible path for Search?

Been digging a little bit more into this, I was able to get the Icloud passwords extension working but in a "hacky" way during my testing which involve sending some probe commands to the worker process of icloud's extension, then and only then did it stop the loop and allow me to get the passwords loaded. Hope to publish more soon.

I'm also having this issue with the extensions menu in the bottom left of the tab bar (with vertical tabs) as well. When I go to pin/click on an extension, the popover closes.

This appears to only be occurring when the sidebar is hidden / in the open on hover state.

Displaying site security information (SSL/TLS certificate details).
Adherence to standard browser security indicators and user transparency regarding connection security. The product needs to provide essential security feedback comparable to mainstream browsers.
