System instability (system_server crashes) and persistent setupwraith re-enablement on Acer Google TV 14 when using tv-detox.

Technical Positioning
Ensuring robust compatibility and stability for tv-detox across diverse Android TV OEM implementations, specifically preventing system-level crashes and maintaining launcher persistence against OEM interference. The goal is reliable operation on all supported devices.
SaaS Insight & Market Implications
This issue exposes severe system-level instability and OEM interference when deploying `tv-detox` on Acer Google TV 14. The `setupwraith RecoveryActivity` loop not only crashes `system_server` but also causes `adb` drops, indicating a critical failure mode. Furthermore, Acer's settings persistently re-enable `setupwraith`, undermining `tv-detox`'s ability to function as the default launcher. This highlights the significant challenges of developing for fragmented Android TV ecosystems, where OEM customizations can actively conflict with third-party applications. For B2B SaaS in embedded systems or custom Android solutions, this underscores the necessity of deep OS-level understanding, robust error handling for OEM-specific behaviors, and strategies to maintain persistence against system resets. The pain point is the inability to reliably control the user experience due to vendor-specific system processes.

Acer Google TV 14: setupwraith RecoveryActivity crashes system_server, and Acer's Settings re-enables setupwraith at every boot (YES_SETUP doesn't stick)

**Device:** Acer R3G (`ACER/ACER/R3_GTV:14/UKR1.260612/2624:user/release-keys`), Google TV, Android 14 (SDK 34), Realtek SoC, 1.5 GB RAM
**tv-detox:** v1.3.0 (repo at 9e546c2, `tvhome.apk` SHA-256 matches the release digest)

Related: #11/#12 (Sony fix), #14 (Xiaomi boot loop), #16 (TCL loop), #17 (turn the launcher back on if Home isn't ours). This adds two things those don't cover.

### 1. On this TV the RecoveryActivity loop crashes system_server, not just the screen

`YES=1 sh install.sh ""` turned off `launcherx`. Home then resolved to `com.google.android.tungsten.setupwraith/.RecoveryActivity` (as in #16/#17). setupwraith was left on (no `YES_SETUP`).

Within about a minute, system_server crashed. It crashed again roughly once a minute (4 times in 4 minutes), and each crash dropped adb:

Adjacent Repository Pain Points

Other highly discussed features and pain points extracted from Ansub/tv-detox.

Extracted Positioning
Usability and customization of the tv-detox settings menu, specifically regarding access to 'TV Settings' and handling of irrelevant options.
Improving user experience by reducing navigation friction, offering customization for frequently accessed settings, and adapting the UI to device-specific capabilities. The goal is efficient and personalized access to critical functions.
Extracted Positioning
Missing HDMI input tiles on tv-detox after boot on specific Android TV devices (MediaTek SoC). The core issue is asynchronous HDMI input registration.
Ensuring reliable and immediate display of all available HDMI inputs on the tv-detox home screen after device boot, regardless of OEM-specific input service timing. The goal is robust device compatibility and a complete user experience from startup.
Extracted Positioning
Parental Control / PIN Lock feature for tv-detox.
Enhancing security and control for users, particularly families or those enforcing 'detox limits,' by restricting access to settings, app uninstalls, and specific applications. This positions `tv-detox` as a more robust and family-friendly solution.
Extracted Positioning
UI/navigation bugs in tv-detox related to focus indication and scroll snapping.
Achieving a polished, intuitive, and visually consistent user experience (UX) on Android TV, specifically for D-pad navigation. The goal is to eliminate visual glitches and ensure smooth, predictable scrolling behavior.
Extracted Positioning
Performance optimization for tv-detox home screen focus animations on low-end Android TV devices.
Achieving smooth UI performance (low frame times, minimal jank) on resource-constrained Android TV hardware by optimizing rendering processes. The goal is to maintain the 'fast again' promise across a wide range of devices.
