Technical Positioning
A Wordle-style daily puzzle game for literature enthusiasts, offering adaptive hints and Discord integration.
SaaS Insight & Market Implications
Bevel, a literature-based puzzle game, is primarily a consumer-facing application. However, its mechanics and distribution model offer insights into broader B2B SaaS trends. The "Wordle-ish mechanics" highlight the enduring appeal of simple, daily engagement loops. The integration as a "Discord activity" points to the growing importance of embedding applications directly within communication platforms, reducing friction for user adoption and social sharing. For B2B SaaS, this suggests a market for tools that facilitate gamification, community engagement, and seamless integration into existing collaboration platforms. The use of public-domain content also indicates a strategy for content acquisition that minimizes licensing costs, a relevant consideration for content-heavy SaaS.

Show HN: Bevel – Guess the book from its opening passage

Built Bevel because my girlfriend is in a book club and I wanted to make her something. It’s a daily puzzle: you read a 200ish-word public-domain passage and try to deduce the author, decade, nationality, and title in five guesses with adaptive hints in between guesses. Wordle-ish mechanics, but for classic literature. There’s a Discord activity too if you enjoy it & want to add it to your server. Bevel is currently unverified on Discord, so only addable to smaller servers for now. Would love any feedback.
