Accent Roulette – Live voice chat application for guessing a stranger's country from their accent.

Technical Positioning
A social application that pairs users for live voice interaction, where participants guess each other's country of origin based on accent. Audio transmission is peer-to-peer via WebRTC, with the server handling only matchmaking and signaling.
SaaS Insight & Market Implications
Accent Roulette is a social interaction application centered on voice-based guessing games. Its core technical implementation leverages WebRTC for direct peer-to-peer audio transmission, ensuring user privacy by preventing audio data from touching the server. The server's role is limited to matchmaking and signaling. While an interesting concept for casual user engagement, this product lacks clear B2B SaaS applicability. It does not address enterprise pain points, offer productivity enhancements, or provide scalable business solutions. The focus is purely on a novel social interaction. There are no discernible market implications for businesses or trends beyond consumer entertainment. Its value proposition is solely within the consumer social space.

Show HN: Accent Roulette – guess a stranger's country from their voice

Hey HN. Recently I watched "The Office" and thought that I would have a hard time guessing Andy's origin just by judging his accents. So that got me here. This pairs you with one random stranger over live voice, and you each try to guess where the other is from by their accent. The audio never touches my server. The voice goes peer to peer over WebRTC, and the server only does the matchmaking and passes the signaling messages back and forth.I'd really like feedback, especially on the connection edge cases and anything that falls over. Thanks for taking a look.
