Stellarium Mobile - Star Map

Originator Noctua Software Ltd
Primary Metric 35,805
Stellarium Mobile is a planetarium app that shows exactly what you see when you look up at the stars. Identify stars, constellations, planets, comets, satellites (such as the ISS), and other deep sky objects in real time in the sky above you in just a few seconds, just by pointing the phone at the sky! This astronomy application has an easy to use and minimalist user interface, that makes it one of the best astronomical applications for adults and children who want to explore the night sky. Stellarium Mobile features: • View an accurate night sky simulation of stars and planets for any date, time and location. • Dive in a collection of many stars, nebulas, galaxies, star clusters and other deep sky objects. • Zoom on realistic Milky Way and Deep Sky Objects images. • Discover how people living in other regions of the planet see the stars by selecting the shapes and illustrations of the constellations for many sky cultures. • Track artificial satellites, including the International Space Station. • Simulate landscape and atmosphere with realistic sunrise, sunset and atmosphere refraction. • Discover 3D rendering of the major solar system planets and their satellites. • Observe the sky in night mode (red) to preserve your eyes adaptation to darkness. Stellarium Mobile contains in-app purchases allowing to upgrade to Stellarium Plus. With this upgrade, the app will display objects as faint as magnitude 22 (versus magnitude 8 in the base version) and enable advanced observing features. Stellarium Plus features (unlocked with in-app purchase): • Reach the limit of knowledge by diving in a massive collection of stars, nebulas, galaxies, star clusters and other deep sky objects:   - All known stars: Gaia DR2 catalog of over 1.69 billion stars   - All known planets, natural satellites and comets, and many other minor solar system objects (10k asteroids)   - Most known deep sky objects: a combined catalog of over 2 million nebulas and galaxies • Zoom almost without limits on high resolution images of deep sky objects or planetary surfaces. • Observe in the field, even without internet connection, with a "reduced" set of data: 2 million stars, 2 million Deep Sky Objects, 10k asteroids. • Control your telescope through WIFI: drive any GOTO telescope compatible with NexStar, SynScan or LX200 protocols. • Prepare your observing sessions using the advanced observation tools, to predict a celestial object observability and transit times. Stellarium Mobile is made by the original creator of Stellarium, the well known open source planetarium and one of the best astronomy applications on Desktop PC. Your can unlock the full features using either a one time payment or a subscription. See In-App Purchase section for the subscription price available in your country. Payment will be charged to your iTunes account. Your subscription will automatically renew unless cancelled 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. This app blowing up the itch I’ve always had for astrology. The interface and accessibility are both rewarding and appreciated. Thank you! I will recommend.

Like most companies today - they remove services and block them behind a paywall. Bye

Sounds like they’re too greedy. You don’t get the best view. You would have to buy it. It’d be nice if they just sold more stars, but it’s not really nice that everything slightly blurry.

Omg not being able to navigate away from a screen even not being able to shut down your phone to avoid a request for access is appalling. I uninstalled your very intrusive app.

This app is one of the best star maps, it is super accurate and when you point it at the night sky it’ll show you the exact star or planet you are looking at. It is super realistic and helpful. It is also free. I recommend if you want to learn more about space Because it also has events and information about different cultures constellations and their drawings. Great app! 10/10

Paid for the pro version. Recent update seem to take away the option where I have saved telescope sensor combo where it shows you the field of view. I use this all the time! Has it been moved? Put it back please! Will put it back to 5 stars when restored

What I don’t understand is android and iOS you can’t even Purchase the Plus in or out of store, this is is across the board two iPhones a tablet and an android phone you simply can’t even purchase Plus there’s no integration of payment system “store not available” you “(keep pushing updates)” but haven’t fixed the problem for years.

I use this app for astrophotography. It helps me locate objects in the night sky with pinpoint precision which is required for high magnification optics. It also give detailed info about every object. I would absolutely recommend it to you.

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for - accurate, very configurable, feature-rich, and affordable. It even has the constellation lines for the H.A. Rey Stars book! Highly recommended!

I’ve had this app from last summer and I got to say it’s AMAZING. It’s one of my favorite apps and I use it at least one time every night. Also I have learned to memorise so many star constellations. It’s so easy to use and so easy to learn!!!!

I will admit that lots of features have been locked behind a paywall, but just because of the amount of features to gain from it that you wouldn’t find in any other app makes it worth it. But there’s this one bug where when I try to connect my SkyWatcher Virtuoso GTi mount to the app it simply doesn’t work. Still a great app however

Waste of money .... paid for it and can't use it! It shouldn't be so difficult.

I’ve always liked looking at the moon and the stars but on this particular morning, I saw something that was shining so bright. I downloaded this app and am getting an education about the skies—I can’t wait to travel beyond the city skies. I appreciate what I’m learning here this September 2025.
