All I’m gonna say is that YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR EVERYTHING!!!!

I've used this app for decades. Had always been fantastic. With one of the recent updates, coughing on the weight widget opens the weight screen to an almost completely blank screen and it never displays anything and it looks up the entire app. Useless now. Fix the error!

I’ve been using this app for over 10 years and have lost access to more and more features as they’re placed behind a pay wall. With the loss of the ability to scan barcodes I’m officially switching to an alternate app. Very disappointing.

If you follow the calorie count and stick with it it’s the perfect app to lose weight, lost 40lbs using it the first time. Gave up on the diet and put weight back on. Hopefully second go is the charm

MyFitnessPal employees are now leaving 5 star positive reviews in the App Store to offset the barrage of negative reviews. It’s just embarrassing.
ANOTHER UPDATE: App reverted back to the NEW look. Ugh. It’s awful. Did anyone test this app before release?
UPDATE: The app reverted back to the previous look and feel. The version we love. Not sure why or how but it did.
—————————
Love this app but enough with the AI. It’s not even worth it in this app and no one asked for it.
Bring back the Dashboard. Why remove an incredibly wonderful feature?
Why did you add extra unnecessary steps to log food? It’s a mess now.
And bring back the calorie goals per meal info so it’s easily seen.

I absolutely love using this app. It helps me stay on track!

BRING BACK THE OLD APP!! I can’t find any of my basic information—I know it’s there, but I seriously don’t have 15 minutes to figure out each meal. Where are my individual meal points?! I don’t want macros, I want to glance and see what I’ve spent. Not the whole day all at once, one food and meal at a time. Losing weight is hard enough. Trying to figure out this app is making me want to quit entirely. 😓

It has helpful options for health (nutrients, scan food barcodes, weight graph..).
Some aspects are annoying: every time you start to log water “You must be thirsty!” Please remove that.
There’s a glitch when logging a daily weight (takes almost a minute to allow you to add a new weight).

This app has AMAZING tools but is not user friendly, big learning curve that is frustrating. I’m still learning to use it. It could have been designed soooo much cleaner and easier to understand and log.

So easy to track calories and nutrients. Great if you want to gain or lose weight. The reminders are good but not obnoxious.
Solisfam9 • Apr 2, 2026
This app is really easy to use to keep track of your calorie intake. I’ve used it for a long and have tried others but always come back to MyFitnessPal

Logged me out, says account doesn’t exist, try to sign up for new account, says username is already taken (which is simply my email) and doesn’t allow you to change the username either. Locked out. Ridiculous, I would never give this worthless app money

I've used this app on and off for maybe 10 years and I noticed recently they took the barcode scanning away unless you pay... disappointing and I definitely struggle to find some of my foods on here
Jaxon293 • Apr 2, 2026
It’s really good for tracking and staying on your goals, but I think the barcode and some other stuff should’ve free. But other than that it’s amazing for calorie deficits and eating more protein less fat and carbs. AMAZING app!

Imagine driving a Lexus or Mercedes around for the r past 10 years and suddenly one day, your car disappears and is replaced with a Ford Pinto from the 1970s with exploding gas tanks, doors that fall off, nothing works and it barely runs. That’s what the latest version of Mfp is. A 1970s ford pinto that barely works. An untested unvalidated pile of poo.

I’ve used MyFitnessPal in the past and had a good experience, so I came back to it recently and it’s changed quite a bit.
Some updates seem like improvements, but the biggest issue for me is the constant third-party ads. Not just annoying, but sketchy phishing scams. I kept getting pop-ups claiming my phone had been hacked from “visiting porn sites”. Seriously? I’m literally just trying to count my calories.🙄
I decided to delete my account and just switch back to another calorie tracker I’ve used successfully before, but even that turned into a hassle. The app repeatedly told me my password was incorrect, even after resetting it multiple times, making it unnecessarily difficult to leave.
I can’t speak to what the paid version is like these days, but based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend using MyFitnessPal. There are plenty of other options out there that don’t come with this level of frustration.

Great database, easy for user to add data, great visuals and it keeps me accountability!
nutragirl • Apr 2, 2026
I’ve had this app for many, many years. Since the last update, the app no longer shows any of my weight history, and when I go to the weight history page, it freezes the app. While some of the other functions work fine, the app becomes fairly useless if I can’t track weight.
It appears that since 3/24, MFP is no longer syncing with Apple Health. Both are correctly turned on in Settings and Privacy. I hope the developers will fix this as soon as possible.

One of the main purposes of an app like this is to record weight over time and that doesn’t work on this app. Time to find another.
