I just started learning to crochet and figured, “hey, this will be good to get me started!” But when I entered the app, I found that BOTH the instructions AND videos cost money for most projects, except for about 50 - but the number is definitely smaller than that. So now I won’t be able to crochet with this app unless it’s payed for. 😕 I would really appreciate it if there were a designated free spot, and if there were more free ones.

I didn’t expect them to work on it so quickly. Not sure if I was the only one hoping for a search bar so I could look ip specific things but now the app is perfect!

YarnPal is great, but sometimes I don’t understand what it t’s telling me to do. I had to watch a couple YouTube videos.

It’s great that it provides pattern ideas, but there is no way to copy/save them. Very frustrating and not useful.

I bought the yearly subscription. Then realized when they would cycle their pattern and projects. There’s never really new patterns. They’ll post up “new” when they just had posted it up a month prior. I’ve had this app for almost nearly a year and have yet to see a new project. It’s mid September and they have the worst Halloween patterns. And continue to drop reused ones over and over again. Like come on!!! When they advertise these amazing cute patterns on their ads, you will be dissapointed when you download it.

I dislike how every picture of the craft is AI, I don’t get an accurate image of the project and that irritates me, also almost everything on this app is pro and only a small fraction of it is not. I feel like we should have it try to aim for an even amount so that everyone can enjoy this app.

this app needs a subscription, you shouldn’t have to pay a subscription to crochet.

This would have been so much fun but it cost way to much money

I was so excited about this app. I paid for the yearly membership and now have access to all patterns and instructional videos. The concept is great it has helped improve my skills but out of 10 projects I made from this app only one turned out looking like the photo. The guide has many errors. It sometimes repeats rows it didn’t mean to repeat and sometimes the ir skips rows and I’m like what happened there. So I get frustrated and just give up. I don’t have time to submit my question and then have to wait for a response or get the wrong answer. Like I said 9 out of 10 came out wrong and I followed the pattern triple checked every row. I just want to scream sometimes!!! :(

The ad I saw on Facebook over and over and over again said it was a free, it is absolutely not free! False advertisement is so annoying

The pattern started as a free pattern and then it became unavailable unless you PAID to access it…VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS BUSINESS PRACTICE.

I did the free trial and it was all AI generated images / patterns and then before the trial was up it charged me for a whole year. Had to get a refund through Apple as I got no response from the company of this app

I have been seeing ads for this app for a while and decided to give it a go with the 7 day free trial. The patterns are easy to follow and all the steps were explained carefully. Where the patterns fall short is in the materials list. The yarn description is hard to understand and not specific. Like 4 ply or chenille. I have medium and light yarns (3, 4) that are 4 ply. Which to use? Chenille comes in several sizes. Which to use? Hook size doesn’t always help to figure it out. The materials/supplies lists are incomplete. How many colors are needed and how much of each color? What else is needed - safety eyes, key ring etc. What type and size? Some can be guessed at by looking at the pictures, but they shouldn’t have to be. These issues would make things difficult for any level crocheter especially a beginner.

This app has such low quality videos, I can barely see the stitches, also 99% of the photos they use are Ai generated, and they also explain things very poorly. ALSO IT COSTS. Not good.

Got an ad for this app on IG which had the cutest Halloween bag pattern shown. Downloaded the app, $40 a year (I did the 7 day free trial), all the patterns had AI photos and that Halloween bag pattern was nowhere to be found. Stick to buying patterns from actual crochet artists.

I definitely recommend this app. It took me from never picking up a crochet hook, to making two small projects in two days. It’s easy to follow and easily engaging. Love this!
