Family search is free, not trying to have you spend money on things you didn’t want anyway, and there is more help and experience to help, guide and influence places to visit on line to help cement your focus.

I have worked with family search for many years. It is so frustrating to have application change after change. Instructions for the changes are never clear enough, and the results of those changes have sent me back generations with many hundreds of repair is based on the way the application “works“. I do not like the open access to all people since not all people are certified genealogist as I am, and their lack of understanding, and absolute ignorance of the way that records are found, and criticality of sources are often not included have absolutely derailed my research. People need to be accountable and there is no accountability in family search. I am a family history consultant. The current system (and display colors) are hard to follow. It is not only frustrating but embarrassing to try to teach. Please stick to the basics, require training, and let people make contributions after it is approved and accepted by the tree owner.

This breaks my heart. I’m taking the time to put all my information in correctly only to find out a year later somebody has erased it.
Also, would you mind when you put a hint on? For my ancestors, could you let me know what ancestor file they are belonging to? I have several lines and I would like to know without having to go through them all. Who does the hint belong to?

Anytime I try to make changes like adding a death date because someone recently died or trying to add my grandmother who I know is alive because I see her often but it acts like she doesn’t even exist and won’t let me add her
