It's easy to be a personal shopper with Shipt—I love it!

While the app functions well 99%, there are “ cellular dead zones” that some stores are in, and at many of those stores the WiFi frequently doesn’t work, which makes it challenging at times. It can make shopping impossible at some locations.

Sometimes customers give bad directions while also being unavailable for contact. The delays are unfair to other customers (batch orders) and it’s equally unfair when they take their anger out on shopper ratings, when clearly there was a technical glitch or they are unresponsive and it was intentional, and that feedback is used negatively against the shopper. That said, I believe this is easy to see or understand, so it is intentionally left this way. They also send some people 3x - 4x the bonus offer amount and batches of small orders, while others get big orders from no tipping customers. This service is going down hill, unfortunately. Instacart is significantly more fair with ratings and protection from scammy shoppers.

This app is nothing more than a tip baiting app. Wait 20 minutes in line for a sub and shop for 10 more items, then drive and deliver to a customer for only $8. What a scam.

Barely any batches, and when they do show up, they are not worth it.
They mislead shoppers with fake “estimated tips” you never know if you’ll actually get them, and most customers don’t tip at all.
They cut off payouts at 10 PM PT on Sunday, and if you miss it, they hold your money for up to two weeks, including Prop 22 earnings.
They are basically using drivers’ cash flow to run their business.
We do the work, but they delay paying us.
Don’t trust lateness forgiveness and rating forgives, They just ignore you even you have personal camera to record the whole situation! They alway be on customer side and ready to deactivate you any time! Can’t wait to see the law suit with the settlement on unfair treat!

Good way to make extra money. Only backdraw is getting bad reviews and having no idea why which brings your shopper rating down. And also brings down your offers.

I recently restored my phone and the app wouldn’t let me login, I’ve emailed and called support and the issue isn’t resolved after troubleshooting. Ive been a user for 3 yrs and havent had any issues until now.

It’s a pretty good app very easy to understand. The only thing I think is should give us maps around tolls or pay for the tolls on some highways we have to use.

I could say that this app is the worst option to work in the Chicago. The trips are very loaded, many brown for deliveries and long miles, long working times and they pay very low. I have signed up and checked every day and the payments to the drivers are very bad, my car hurts and what I pay in GAS right now. It's not worth it. Payment is low low low…

I just began working for this company. I’ve been doing Instacart over four years and have a great rating! My third order for this company a customer lie on me saying items were missing and items were damaged, so they did not have to pay me my $11.43 delivery fee plus $11 incentive for being on time. The company did not investigate and they did not take that off my stats which I find really odd.

I’ve been with Shipt for over 8 years, and I truly love what I do. I enjoy shopping, delivering, and especially connecting with members—it’s something I take pride in every day.

However, it’s become increasingly frustrating to find consistent work. There are so many new shoppers being hired that long-time shoppers with high ratings aren’t getting enough orders. I’ve consistently maintained at least a 4.98 rating and have years of experience, yet some days it’s still difficult to get orders.

It feels like there should be more balance—whether that’s monitoring the number of shoppers in each metro, prioritizing experienced shoppers, or factoring in ratings more.

I love Shipt and want to keep doing this, but something needs to change to make the work more consistent for those of us who have been dedicated for years.

They are crooks, and liars. I had a deliver between 6am and 7am. Store opened at 6am. Also they were 12 minutes away and had 66 items. They refused to remove the late off my stats. They are trying to force you to submit s audit of your tips. Which they know a lot of people will not do.
2. They will give you your tips a month later.
3. Nobody gives a short amount for a tip($3.00 or $5.00). Most people give a percentage. So not only are they stealing your tips in full but giving you partial amounts.
4. There is no way you’re doing 5 or 6 straight orders with no tips and the people are spending over $200 and $300. It statistically does add up. Screen shot all orders with no tips. Submit an audit for all of them. They steal can lie but at least you have proof once someone opens up an investigation into whatever shady activity they have going on. They obviously think most people who do this are desperate or dumb or both. It’s something shady going on. This is my only issue with them beside the rating system. How are you suppose to submit a rating review when you don’t know who gave you the review. Like I said shady.

I would like to express my concern regarding the recent changes in the app, as they are significantly affecting my ability to work and earn consistently.

The app no longer functions the way it used to. At this point, it seems we can only accept up to two orders at a time, and once those are accepted, all other available orders disappear and do not show up again until much later. Previously, it was possible to complete up to 12 orders in a single morning, but now it has dropped to around 6, which is a substantial decrease.

In addition, the app now requires constant refreshing just to see any available orders. Orders are no longer reliably shown in the “Offers” section, and preferred member orders are no longer being prioritized. Instead, they are being placed in Open Metro, forcing shoppers to continuously refresh the app just for a chance to claim an order.

Overall, these changes have made the platform much less efficient and have negatively impacted both workflow and earnings. I have been working with the platform for a long time, and this recent experience is very different from how it used to be.
