Inexpensive camera and it works perfectly
Great having the camera with sound watching the cottage when we are away. Keeps us from wondering what is happening when we are not there.
The app is smooth, seamless, and easy to use. Combined with quality products like the indoor and outdoor smart plugs, crystal-clear security cameras, and the ability to use many features without requiring a subscription, it creates a strong overall ecosystem.
Where the app continues to fall short is secondary user access and permissions. For example, if a second user, such as a spouse, is added to the account, they cannot enable a camera if the admin previously disabled it. The current workaround suggested online is to share the primary admin login, but that creates another issue: two people cannot reliably access the app at the same time under the same account.
This becomes especially problematic during security alerts. If one person is already in the app responding to a camera notification, the other may not be able to access the camera feed to help assess the situation. In a real-world security scenario, that limitation matters.
Because of this issue alone, we moved most of our primary security cameras to another platform and now only use Tapo cameras for checking in on a second home (with a one-camera Tapo Care subscription). However, we continue to run Tapo smart plugs and switches at both homes because they are among the most reliable smart home products available.
Improving multi-user permissions and simultaneous access for shared access/households would make this ecosystem significantly stronger. And would allow us to move all 12 security cameras back to Tapo.

Several issues:
1. Camera footage cannot be deleted from the app
2. Alarm settings reset to default periodically…
3. Footage playback interface isn’t very user friendly.

Bloated at wastes close to 1 GB storage, too many advertisements and once again update corrupts widget.
Download the app, search for your device… name it!🤷♂️
Too just live it
Would be perfect if the app didn’t have a delay with loading promotional ads on the top of the screen. When I open the app and tap to access a device, sometimes there’s a delay with loading a promotional ad on the top that shifts the whole interface down and causes me to tap the wrong device. PLEASE allow us to disable these disruptive promotions that do nothing beneficial for us.
Camera system just stopped working. Think that app update screwed up the system as I had to resign in. All cameras were then set with no detection then no live option as it just spins. Shows battery charge and a past image but also says our SD card has nothing on it. It worked great for years! What happened Tapo IT?

Hi devs please include a fix for the mic on ios version of the app
Because it’s not working you can test it your self it is enabled but the sound is not coming through you have to do a work around to mute it and unmute it then u can hear the sound for a split second and the sound is gone again
