Community Voice & Feedback
Overall my favorite podcast app(when it functions correctly and isn’t glitching)with the app display layout, format, and especially the “up next” or “up last”queue feature. I’ve been leaning towards finally leaving the app lately. Only reason I don’t immediately is that I hate completely losing my entire listening history from all my podcasts. The app is just glitchy. Multiple podcasts every week just won’t play on the app, or the download is magically “corrupted “ or something as soon as I start playing a podcast. Lot of the time for example, a podcast is displaying as 2 hours but as soon as I press play it won’t play and the podcast is displayed as 12 minutes long and it’s completely broken. Then I login to my account on the website on my phone and it plays just fine. Don’t know why the website works better than the app.
It used to be the most amazing app, but after what seems like some kind of major rewrite or maybe change in staffing (who knows!) it started having persistent problems.
If you don’t pre-download a podcast or decide to hit the download button after it has started playing - or start playing before the download has finished, it will often stop outputting audio even though the time counter keeps advancing. You can only fix by stopping, deleting download, redownload, then restart

By far my favorite podcast app.... But: a recent update changed the way the add/remove from up next button works in the episode detail page. Now it displays a "+" sign regardless of whether I've already added the episode to my up next playlist or not, whereas it used to change to an icon that indicated that it was already added, which was very helpful!
Podcasts just stop playing audio suddenly several minutes into the episode. I went through technical support and they were not helpful. They seem to think it is an issue outside of their app, but other apps can play podcasts just fine. I’m tired of trying to figure it out and have better things I can do with my time.
About half of my episodes in the queue will stop audio playback randomly. Even though the player and progress bar is showing media being streamed. I've tried through phone and Bluetooth output and it doesn't seem to make any difference
Hands down the best podcast player out there. The constant updates also shows that they are still passionate about it
This is why I keep swapping podcast apps. Why are you making it hard to to just see my feed. Still tons of wasted space in the app and smart playlists are still a useless waste of space for me. Sucks that this is the best podcast app put there I neee a clone of the pre ios11 app.
Just updated the app and I can’t get any of my downloaded podcasts to play.
Has slowly gotten worse year after year. Now it logged me out every single time and I have to login. Just straight up garbage at this point.
I recently switched from android to iOS. I really loved podcast addict on that platform. This is the most similar app I can find on iOS.
Great app overall, but the Apple Watch version has a persistent issue where pressing play triggers a loud, unnecessary chime every time. This has been reported for years with no way to disable it.
Other podcast apps on Apple Watch don’t have this behavior, so it feels like an implementation issue rather than a system limitation. It’s a small detail, but it happens constantly and makes the Watch experience feel less polished.
I’ve used Pocket Casts for a long time and would happily subscribe if this were addressed.

This is my fave podcast platform. When your show ends, it doesn’t play some next thing to keep you hooked. That’s what I love shout it most.
I’ve been using Pocket Casts for at least 5 years and was a refugee from Apple’s podcast app. The features I like best include being able to queue up multiple podcasts for long during trips, the skip forward and skip back to get trough commercials or repeat a segment, and the ability to automatically skip a time period at the beginning or at the end. It’s also very easy to subscribe to podcasts that you have pay for.
Been using this podcast player for over a decade. The customization available for each individual podcast is outstanding and can’t be beat. Highly recommend. Every other podcast player is so meh compared to this one. Don’t waste your time with any other podcast app.
It’s been ages since I’ve been able to listen to an entire episode without the app freezing
