SaaS Metrics
The way the application replicates drawing with a pencil is phenomenal in my opinion. It really feels so very real-to-life in my use thus far. I haven’t tried the pen just yet but I’m sure it’s equally as great. Seriously, though, it feels like I’m drawing the insane stuff I draw in my notebooks with a real pencil but just on my phone instead, I dig it big time! I’m going to draw so many things with this app. I can’t wait!
If I had one little quibble or thing I might like added, please. That would be if the developer would pretty please add a second, regular eraser function. I’ve used other drawing or painting applications that utilized what I believe the developer called a “vector eraser.” But, I have to say that I’ve just never gotten used to that type of erasing. Instead of erasing whatever you draw like a usinga paint brush or pencil to mark away the parts you want gone. It instead starts the erasing from whatever you first touch. But then it also pulls out, or rather, erases stuff around that point of contact as well. Which, again, I seriously am enjoying the heck out this wonderful app, truly. Yet, man, I really cannot get comfortable using an eraser that removes parts of my drawing that I didn’t even touch with the eraser.
Would you please offer a second option for the eraser to work like it traditionally would. Where it only erases what you touch on the canvas and not other things connected to what you touched with the eraser? I would be incredibly grateful and so very thankful if you would please consider adding a second traditional eraser function. The one offered now can be great if you want to remove big swaths of something you’ve drawn. That’s great. But sometimes I just want to erase small details in what I’ve put down and it’s frustrating for the eraser to erase parts of my drawing that I never wanted removed. Thank you so much if you would please give us a second option for erasing.
Outside of that small issue I feel extremely satisfied with my purchase of Simple Sketch. And I foresee my using this application a ton to draw all sorts of wild and bonkers things. You really should check out this app I think and see how amazing and realistic the pencil tool is here, along with all the other good stuff offered here.
You can change the size of the pencil and I’m sure the pen as well. Also, thankfully, there is an unlimited Undo/Redo function offered in the program. Which, I’m very grateful for that as well, thank you. Plus, I really like the canvas design and canvas color a whole bunch. It pairs so well with the pencil and pen I think. Just a really neat looking aesthetic to draw on.
If I had just one more thing I might like to see added. I think it would definitely be the ability to rotate the canvas in any direction. Meaning, the ability to turn the screen/canvas sideways, upside down, etc. That would be really great if we could do that because it helps to give you a wide range of drawing motion I’ve always found. I keep finding myself trying to rotate the canvas instinctively actually, haha.
If you’re looking for a really fun, very competent, well functioning, beautifully designed and just great sketching application. Well, I cannot recommend Simple Sketch highly enough. This app was easily money well spent in my opinion and I’m chomping at the bit just to get back into it and continue sketching :P.
Many thanks to the developer on creating and offering such a superb art application, thank you so much if you’ll consider adding a traditional eraser function and a canvas rotation function, for offering this wonderful sketch app for one fair price and God bless you and your loved ones.
Edit:
Wow! Just noticed when exporting a drawing that it saves the work in super high resolution. That’s awesome! It’s like 3,000 something by 5,000 px something. Besides art apps that let you specify your canvas size. Most other apps export your work in middle of the road if not horribly low resolution often times. It’s so unbelievably refreshing to see a developer who actually gets it and appreciates for the user wanting to save their artwork in a resolution that will look good anywhere you put it. Or, more importantly if you want to print it. Thank you so much, developer, for being that thoughtful and considerate in giving us an awesome sized expert resolution.
The number of times I’ve found in other art applications that I spent all of this time and hard work to create something and then find that the exported dimensions of my saved work is only something like 1000x1000 pixels. So irritating. Man, finding out Simple Sketch exports your work to such a high resolution just made give this app 10-stars! Thank you so much. I dig this app twice as much now! Woohoo!

Addendum: I also wanted to say that I really, really like the drawings in the screenshots for this app. Seeing the type of stuff I love to draw in those screenshots made me want to buy this app even more, haha. Bravo to the developer or whomever created those drawings because they all rock big time in my opinion 👏🏻😬.
