Prospective members may download the app and submit an application. Once submitted, applications are placed in queue and reviewed continually. An applicant's status can change from "waitlisted" to "accepted" at any time.
Once accepted, members have the option to purchase a 1, 6, or 12 month auto-renewing membership and will have full functionality of the entire service while their subscription is active.
Raya's community values – trust, respect, and privacy – are core to the membership experience. Members who act in a manner that is not reflective of these values and other community guidelines may have their accounts suspended or terminated. Similarly, Raya exhibits those values as a company by giving members full control over their visibility within the community at all times and ensuring that personal information is secure and never shared, among other things.
Initial payment is charged via iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase and auto-renewals are charged within 24 hours prior to the end of the applicable period. Auto-renewal may be turned off at any time through iTunes Account Settings. Any subscription cancellation will be effective at the end of the applicable period.

I’m very active member of my cities social community yet my “application” for raya has been pending now for years.
For as long as it took for me to even be accepted to the app, I expected way more diverse in profiles and occupation. The amount of tech bros is quite bias. Plus, rarely any people of color as if we arnt part of the population of career successful people.

You match with ppl, message them and never hear from them. Update: 2 years later, tons of matches, 2 ppl messaged back, zero date offers.
Met a series of men who are sociopaths on this app. When I send the app a report and the evidence they tell me they can’t remove anyone… ok, so I’m paying raya to match with psychos? Bye
Lots of high quality people. But the app is weird. No one talks or responds to anything after matching. Depressing experience. Also expensive
They don’t even make it subtle
only complaint is a lot of people don’t message back and forth a lot so somehow change that aspect so it’s not a waste of time

That’s exactly what this is. The creators tried to make this app different. That you need to be “connected” to be accepted. It’s ridiculous. If oh want empty, vapid conversations. Please apply. But just know it’s all nonsense and it’s not real life interactions. It’s fake.
Raya, like most things that feel exclusive in life, such as high fashion or VIP only clubs, is overrated and underwhelming. They make you wait to be apart of the deal and then when you are you’re subject to losing your spot if you don’t want to fork up the money every month - They use FOMO tactics to keep your money flowing. The app itself is unremarkable and very similar to Tinder which makes it just another swipe right, swipe left time suck. I was hoping for more substance.
I’ve been on the waiting list to join since 2020, have 10 referrals, and I’m still on the waiting list. Meanwhile, I know people with no (ZERO) referrals who have been accepted the day after they apply. Not sure why my application isn’t getting pushed through, but it’s super frustrating and makes me not want to recommend if to other consumers
All the men on this app have a hugely inflated ego with zero emotional intelligence and not an ounce of simple kindness. Don’t waste your money. Just use Hinge if you must.
