Great!
I will have to test to see if I am reading that correctly, and DesignCraft is only checking once per session. That is an aggravating and wrong-headed approach. (But yes, a HUGE improvement over zero times per session.)

**Follow-up confirmed:** Re-tested IDML import on v0.4.0 — the pink-text rendering and unrecognized paragraph styles are also resolved now that system fonts are detected correctly. Confirms this was the same root cause. Thanks!
**Update:** This is resolved for me in DesignCraft v0.4.0 — system fonts (macOS Tahoe 26.6.2) now show up correctly in the font menu. I haven't re-tested the IDML import pink-text/paragraph-style issue yet, but will follow up if it persists.
As noted above, this duplicates #48 (closed), and #110 is the same report. The fix is 48e409e, "installed fonts are found by name whatever ran before", which ships in **v0.4.0**. If system fonts are still missing in 0.4.0, please say so; otherwise this one and #110 can be closed.
Same cause as #48, fixed on main after v0.2.1 (48e409e). The pink text is the missing-font highlight.
System fonts are also not detected on Linux
**Additional observation (possibly same root cause):**
When importing an InDesign file as `.idml`, all text renders in pink/magenta, and none of the paragraph styles are recognized.
This is likely connected to the missing system-fonts issue above: if DesignCraft can't resolve the fonts referenced by the IDML's paragraph/character styles (because it only sees its bundled fonts), it may be falling back to a "missing font" placeholder — which commonly renders as pink/magenta text and drops style recognition.
Once system font detection is fixed, it would be worth re-testing IDML import to confirm paragraph styles and text color resolve correctly.

This bug is a duplicate of https://github.com/storytold/designcraft/issues/48 (although Shippori Mincho is new since then).
