Community Voice & Feedback
My team just created a side-quest computer game and I like the idea of adding comments so the game can be social. My question is: is moderation just yes/no on whether the comment should be posted, or there are other controls under the "moderation" umbrella?
An empty comment box on a landing page is worse than no comment box. The first one that lands sets the tone of the page for everyone after it.
do mentions work for anyone or only people who already signed up on that site? asking bcoz anonymous comments plus mentions sounds like a moderation headache
How do you handle spam once a site starts getting a decent amount of traffic?
Handy for those maintaining blogs and websites. I also like that it has games 😄
If I'm on a basic static site, is it really just adding a snippet?
Docs is the right wedge and also the hardest one. A comment answering a question about the old API sits under the new page forever and reads more authoritative than the docs above it, so the thread quietly turns into misinformation. If a comment can be pinned to the version of the page it was written against, and greyed out when that section changes, that's the bit I'd pay for. Everything else on the list is a widget, that one is a product.
loved this Sanjeeb! Wish you all the best here
Good for demonstrating the most honest social proof. :)
cmmnts has a bunch of interactive, crazy little games hiding in the Experiments section. 😄Play with your friends, partner, family — or, if nobody’s around, challenge the computer. 😎The Games section is still in alpha, so you might find a few rough edges here and there. But trust me, it’s surprisingly fun.Give it a try. Pick a game, invite someone, and see who wins. 👀🔥👉 https://cmmnts.in/gamesDon’t blame us if “just one game” turns into an hour. 😂
cmmnts also has an Experiments/Lab section. Don’t miss it!https://cmmnts.in/lab
We saw that a lot of documentation pages could use comments right on the page, so people can report issues, ask questions, or share feedback without having to go somewhere else.
The problem is that adding and maintaining a comment system takes time and infrastructure. The same applies to people running their own static websites, blogs etc. With cmmnts, they can just add comments to their pages and let people discuss and leave feedback there.
