Research Abstract & Technology Focus

In today’s revolutionizing world, there is a tremendous advancement in the generating the new content, including text, images, videos, videos with audio and pattern-based learning using generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) field. This GenAI is rapidly evolving across many sectors and transforming areas such as art, language generation, gaming and synthetic data creation. This is initially developed for applications like image synthesis (GANs), text generation (LLMs), and design automation by positioning its force multiplier in multi domain warfare. Rapidly GenAI is transforming to one its major application i.e. Naval warfare. The integration of GenAI to Naval warfare reflects strategic transformation where the stealth dependent nature of Modern naval warfare requests intelligent systems which can operate in complex and data scarce domain of underwater sensing. The quick progress of GenAI is increasing Naval warfare and underwater sensing, leading in a new paradigm in maritime defense. This chapter focuses on the transformative potential of GenAI in AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) functionalities, acoustic signal reconstruction, adaptive electronic warfare and synthetic data generation. In order to combine generative models with real time signal processing units, acoustic sensors, and AI enables threat detection modules, a hybrid system architecture is designed. The key contributions include development of novel generative framework which is capable of simulating complex underwater scenarios, optimize sensor deployment tactics, and may improve sonar data interpretation. The technology outperforms traditional techniques in terms of operational efficiency and detection reliability in crowded and dynamic underwater environments. This chapter illustrates the effectiveness of GenAI in enhancing underwater object detection accuracy, training efficiency, and situational awareness through comprehensive simulations and analysis of recent defense aligned with AI developments. The future research can be combining explainable AI, multimodal sensor fusion, and quantum sensing with GenAI for reliable and moral military applications can be made possible by this study.
