Depth Effect rendering and color output accuracy on specific hardware configurations (Intel MacBook Pro with AMD GPU).

Technical Positioning
Achieving consistent visual effects and rendering fidelity across diverse macOS hardware, specifically Intel-based Macs with discrete GPUs. Ensuring cross-platform compatibility for graphical effects.
SaaS Insight & Market Implications
This issue exposes a critical rendering incompatibility for Mac-Duo's 'Depth Effect' on specific Intel-based MacBook Pro configurations with AMD GPUs. The persistent 'red gradient' despite correct lid angle detection and extensive user troubleshooting indicates a deep-seated problem with color space, Metal rendering, or GPU compatibility. This directly impacts the core value proposition of the application for a segment of its target audience. Such rendering artifacts undermine user trust and product quality perception. For a visual effect application, consistent and accurate rendering across supported hardware is non-negotiable. Failure to resolve these hardware-specific rendering issues limits market penetration and generates negative user experiences, particularly as Apple transitions away from Intel, making robust legacy support crucial for existing users.

Red gradient appears in Depth Effect on Intel MacBook Pro 16-inch (2019)

Hi, I’m using Mac Duo on a MacBook Pro 16-inch (2019) with:

* Intel Core i9
* AMD Radeon Pro 5500M
* macOS Sonoma 14.0

The lid angle sensor works correctly, and Mac Duo can read the lid angle in real time.

However, when Depth Effect is enabled and I start closing the lid, the screen shows a strong red / reddish gradient instead of a transparent or natural depth effect.

I have already tried granting Screen Recording permission, restarting the app and macOS, setting Dimming to 0%, setting Blur to 0 or very low, setting Perspective to 0%, and changing other effect settings. The red gradient still remains.

The effect looks normal in terms of geometry, but the captured screen content is heavily tinted red.

So the lid angle detection seems to work normally, but the rendering/color output appears incorrect on this Intel Mac.

Could this be related to the color space, Metal rendering, or Intel/AMD GPU compatibility?
