Gemini Executive Synthesis

Localization for Compositor, specifically Simplified Chinese (zh-Hans).

Technical Positioning
Enhancing global market accessibility and user adoption, particularly in the Chinese-speaking market, by providing a localized user experience.
SaaS Insight & Market Implications
The proposed Simplified Chinese localization represents a direct, low-friction path to expanding Compositor's user base in a significant global market. Leveraging Apple's native String Catalog workflow minimizes integration complexity, demonstrating a clear understanding of the existing macOS-centric architecture. The use of established image-editing terminology ensures user familiarity and reduces adoption friction. This initiative is a strategic move to improve product accessibility and user experience for non-English speakers, directly impacting market penetration and community engagement without requiring core architectural changes. It signals a focus on user experience refinement within the current platform constraints.

Proposal: add Simplified Chinese localization

Hi! Would you be open to a Simplified Chinese (`zh-Hans`) localization for Compositor?

I have prepared an implementation in a fork using Apple's native String Catalog workflow:

- `Localizable.xcstrings` for application UI, menus, tooltips, errors, and accessibility labels
- `InfoPlist.xcstrings` for localized document type names
- English remains the source language and fallback
- dynamic enum-backed/AppKit labels use the same stable English source keys
- no editing or rendering behavior is intentionally changed

The current translation uses established Simplified Chinese image-editing terminology, including 图层 (Layer), 蒙版 (Mask), 剪贴蒙版 (Clipping Mask), 混合模式 (Blend Mode), 内容识别填充 (Content-Aware Fill), and 移除背景 (Remove Background).

I have verified that the macOS app builds successfully and that the Chinese resources are included in the application bundle. I would be happy to submit the implementation as a focused pull request if this direction is welcome.

Would you be interested in accepting this localization upstream?
