Connection stability and automatic reconnection logic

Technical Positioning
Stable, persistent CarPlay connection
SaaS Insight & Market Implications
This issue describes a fundamental connection stability problem in DiPlay version 0.2.0, where CarPlay sessions repeatedly disconnect and automatically re-establish. This behavior, observed on a BYD SEAL U DM-i with DiLink 3.0 (Android 10) and an iPhone 14 (iOS 16.3), indicates an underlying instability in maintaining the CarPlay link. The fact that it does not occur on a different iPhone model (XS Max with iOS 18.7.1) suggests potential device-specific or iOS version-specific incompatibilities, or a timing-related issue in the connection handshake that is sensitive to client device characteristics. Such intermittent connectivity severely degrades user experience, making CarPlay unreliable for navigation or media. Addressing this requires deep analysis of the connection lifecycle, error handling, and potential differences in how various iPhone models or iOS versions interact with the DiPlay receiver.

Using an iPhone 13 Pro running OS 17.7.2, the same issue was also encountered on a Dlink 4.0 (9.0), a vivo 2405A (15), and a Redmi K50 (12). By the way, I was using the car head unit's hotspot.
