Extending gpu-unlock's tensor speed-select unlock to NVIDIA AD103 (RTX 4080 SUPER) GPUs.

Technical Positioning
gpu-unlock aims to provide performance unlocking for a broader range of NVIDIA consumer GPUs, moving beyond the initial GA102/GA104 focus.
SaaS Insight & Market Implications
This issue represents a strategic initiative to expand `gpu-unlock`'s market reach by supporting newer NVIDIA architectures, specifically AD103 (RTX 4080 SUPER). The offline research provides strong evidence that AD103 utilizes the same AD102 Booter archive, suggesting a high degree of compatibility at the firmware level. This significantly reduces the technical barrier for porting, as core unlocking mechanisms might be reusable. The developer's request for 'guidance on a responsible port' and emphasis on 'validation' indicates a methodical approach to expansion, prioritizing stability and correctness. Market implications are substantial: extending support to the 40-series GPUs unlocks a new generation of hardware for performance enhancement, broadening the user base and maintaining relevance in a rapidly evolving GPU market. This proactive investigation is critical for long-term product viability.

AD103 / RTX 4080 SUPER support: offline Booter evidence and remaining validation gates

I am investigating whether this project's tensor speed-select unlock could be ported to an RTX 4080 SUPER (AD103, PCI ID `10de:2702`). I have **not** run an unlock or modified the GPU. This is a request for guidance on a responsible port, not a request to add the PCI ID to the supported list without an AD103 payload and validation.

The [current README](github.com/Zagitta/gpu-unloc... limits the implementation to GA102/GA104. In offline research, I found:

- NVIDIA's [610.43.03 AD103 host dispatch](github.com/NVIDIA/open-gpu-k... selects the stock AD102 Booter archive. Linux Nouveau also [declares the 570.144 Booter for AD103](github.com/torvalds/linux/bl...
- I compared the unpacked `booter_load-570.144.bin.xz` stock container with NVIDIA's [610.43.03 generated AD102 archive](github.com/NVIDIA/open-gpu-k... The Production image, header, signature table, and four other archive fields match byte for byte. `IMAGE_PROD` SHA-256: `83e06ccd394eb73ab9e599a6db23be01e0df307d3ec4cfd64fa9499837a402da`; `SIG_PROD` table SHA-256: `11d6c63d7cbcf60f9d2d3cf1a1ea3f248b718fc99...

I've seen some other reports that supposedly it works for AD102 as well but I don't have a card to test on myself. I'm happy to expand the allowed device IDs to AD102 as well if I see concrete evidence it works like boot logs with the driver output as well as benchmarks with before/after numbers. That said it's of course all on your own risk 😄 It _should_ be relatively safe and at worst just fail to boot

This would be definetly also interesting for 4070 Ti Super, as it also uses the AD103. I have this GPU here, so I could test this if somebody gives me a small guide on what to modify and what tests/benchmarks should be done.

Re-posting here rather than as a separate issue, since AD10x support was already discussed in this thread. Three AD106 cards (RTX 4060 Ti, `10de:2803`), cold boot, no driver bound, `driver=`, `state=0`. The throttle block is present and decodes at the GA10x addresses: `FEAT_OVR_PLM 0x00823804` reads `ffffff8f` on all three, the same value as every Ampere part; `FEATURE_READOUT_1 0x00823818` reads `00410080` on all three; `SS0` is per-die (`04022036`, `17150016`, `15324120`) with no nibble >= 8; and the consumer fuse tier is programmed (`FMLA32 = 1`, `IMLA4 = 1`, master-kill fuse `0x008203f0 = 0`, so it is not blown). What makes it a port rather than a line: **no host write lands.** Writing `0xffffffff` to `0x00823804` reads back `ffffff8f`. Writing `0x88888888` and `0x8` to `SS0`/`SS1` reads back the stock per-die values. `0x00823818` never moves. Every value was restored afterwards. On GA10x the selectors are PL0-writable, which is what makes this module's own two host writes ...

@mongoled Absolutely willing to contribute. If you can send me the probe module and a short HowTo with the necessary steps to get a clean reading, i will asap run the tests.
Zagitta • Oct 23, 2026
@mongoled seems the issue is that the `FEAT_OVR_PLM` write isn't sticking which causes the SS0 and SS1 writes to not be PL0 writable. To me that indicates something is behaving differently in SEC2 on Ada 🤔 Regarding decrypted booter firmware you can search around for the other CMP 170hx/90hx/50hx repos, they should have more info
