Technical Positioning
High-fidelity, artifact-free game rendering across various hardware, including modern AMD GPUs. The goal is accurate texture display and visual integrity.
SaaS Insight & Market Implications
This issue reports a 'textures bug' on an AMD RX 7600 GPU, manifesting as 'pink/violet texture in random areas' when moving outside specific game environments. This indicates a problem with texture loading, mapping, or shader compilation specific to this GPU and driver version. The visual corruption directly impacts the game's fidelity and user experience. This pain point suggests potential incompatibilities in how the recompilation handles texture formats or memory management on newer AMD hardware. For a B2B SaaS product in the game recompilation space, maintaining visual accuracy across a wide range of modern GPUs is critical. Such texture bugs erode user trust and highlight the ongoing challenge of ensuring rendering pipeline compatibility with evolving graphics hardware and drivers.

Textures bug in RX 7600

### Savage Wind version

0.2.0-alpha.2

### Your PC

Windows 10 Home, RX-7600 8GB(26.10.1 driver version), Xeon E5-2667V4

### Where in the game

Great Plateau

### What happened, and how to make it happen again

Texture issue. The texture starts to bug when i go outside of the cave. It shows a little pink/violet texture in random areas.

Thanks for the video! It shows magenta, blocky patches on the mossy tops of the stone ruins, the "error" colour of Savage Wind's texture decoder. We don't see it on NVIDIA or on the Steam Deck (AMD on Linux), so it looks specific to AMD's Windows driver; (RX 570) looks like the same thing. Could you attach your `savagewind.log` (in the Savage Wind folder)? A fix for wrong textures in the `test` branch may cover it, and we'll ask you to retest with the next release.

[savagewind.log](https://github.com/user-attachments/files/33897087/savagewind.log) Hi, i think it was the resolution bug, i wasnt able to put 1920x1080 via game, then i changed it via the .ini file. Now the magenta bug isnt showing anymore. There is just a visual glitch when i cut the trees off the visual glitch video: https://streamable.com/leat1a

Thanks, that's a great clue! Two separate things here: **1. The glitch when cutting trees (your second video): this one we know.** At about 0:38 the cut trunk is stretched out of shape. It's the same bug as : a cut tree reads its "cut" texture from a texture slot the game has already given to another texture, so the trunk gets wrong data and deforms. It's fixed in the `test` branch and will be in the next release. **2. The magenta patches: not confirmed yet.** You found that they went away when you switched from 1280x1024 to 1920x1080. We tried the same ruins at 1280x1024 and at 1920x1080 on an NVIDIA GPU with the `test` build, and they didn't appear at either size. So either something in `test` already fixed it, or it needs an AMD GPU at that resolution, which we can't test here. The fix causes wrong textures too, so it *might* be related, but that's a guess, not something we've verified. When the next release is out, could you try 1280x1024 again and tell us if the magenta c...

version 1.8.2, but i was trying to find the 1.9.0 update, without success. But if it faild even with 1.9.0 it is useless to search for it, isn't it?
