Technical Positioning
Reliable, non-intrusive patching and modification of host application files, with robust process management and state handling. The goal is seamless application of patches.
SaaS Insight & Market Implications
This issue details a critical Windows-specific bug where the 'package replacement helper' (PowerShell helper) terminates prematurely with the host application, leaving the `app.asar.purge-handoff.json` in a `waiting_for_quit` state. This prevents `app.asar` from being moved and disk patches from taking effect, rendering the `dsh-purge` plugin ineffective. The problem is exacerbated by the fact that re-applying the patches only recreates the same failing helper. This indicates a fundamental flaw in the inter-process communication or lifecycle management, possibly related to unprivileged process tokens or a race condition during host application shutdown. For a B2B SaaS product relying on modifying core application files, this bug is catastrophic, directly undermining its primary function and leading to persistent user frustration. A robust, asynchronous, and fault-tolerant patching mechanism is essential.

- DSH Desktop `0.2.1-rc.3`(`C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Programs\DeepSeek Harness`)
- dsh-purge-community `1.6.59`

2. 点「应用」→ 插件调用 `scheduleWindowsAsarHandoff()`
3. 约 1 秒内 state 变成 `waiting_for_quit`
4. 完全退出 DSH(托盘退出)

`resources\app.asar.purge-handoff.json`:

```json
{"detail":"","archive_sha256":"04B32E3A872826BA15CFB2081C6A929A8D4ECAA65E09A2543E5A6B30E2EFF1F0",
"pid":40012,"token":"64138834-506a-4eb3-bcd0-f590f66af577","phase":"waiting_for_quit",
"backup":"...\\app.asar.purge-64138834-506a-4eb3-bcd0-f590f66af577.bak",
"updated_at":"2026-10-25T08:22:49.7422987Z"}
```

`app.asar.purge-handoff.json.log`(全文)——**只有两行,没有 failed,也没有 expired**:

```
2026-10-25T08:22:49.4688669Z ready
2026-10-25T08:22:49.7462989Z waiting_for_quit
```

- `.broker.log` / `.launch.log` / `.launch.log.error` 均为 0 字节

Adjacent Repository Pain Points

Other highly discussed features and pain points extracted from kingcharleslzy-ai/dsh-purge.

Extracted Positioning
Plugin activation and package replacement mechanism, specifically the plugin failing to enable correctly after installation, indicated by `app.asar` still being the active entry point and 'unlimited mode' disappearing after restart.
Reliable plugin activation, correct package replacement, and persistent configuration. The goal is seamless integration and full functionality post-installation.

Extracted Positioning
Plugin installation and status reporting, specifically a persistent 'timeout' error after successful installation, preventing the plugin from functioning or reporting its status correctly.
Reliable plugin installation, accurate status reporting, and seamless integration with the host application. The goal is a functional and transparent plugin lifecycle.
Extracted Positioning
File system interaction and file type detection within the `dsh-purge` plugin, specifically a core file system API (`readSync`) not being forwarded, leading to incorrect classification of text files as binaries.
Accurate file system interaction and correct file type identification for proper plugin operation and patching. The goal is robust host compatibility and reliable file handling.
Extracted Positioning
AI model safety, ethical alignment, and resistance to 'jailbreaking' or 'purging' of safety protocols, specifically the user's attempt to bypass ethical guardrails.
Maintaining AI safety, ethical boundaries, and resistance to malicious prompts, while still providing constructive alternatives. The goal is a robust, ethically aligned AI that cannot be easily 'purged' of its safety mechanisms.
