Gemini Executive Synthesis

The core product is `terminal-mac`, a solution for running MacOS within a terminal. The specific pain point is the failure of modifier key combinations (e.g., Cmd+A, Cmd+V) and editing keys (Backspace, Delete) to function correctly within focused web form inputs and menus in the guest MacOS environment.

Technical Positioning
The developers aim for `terminal-mac` to accurately emulate physical keystrokes and modifier key behavior within the guest operating system, ensuring standard text editing and menu interaction functionality. The explicit expectation is that 'key actions with modifiers and editing keys behave like physical keystrokes in the focused element'.
SaaS Insight & Market Implications
This issue reveals a critical usability flaw within `terminal-mac`, severely impacting its utility for productivity tasks. Users cannot perform fundamental text editing operations like selecting, deleting, or pasting text within web forms, nor can they interact with menus using standard keyboard shortcuts. This breaks core user expectations for any functional desktop environment, virtualized or otherwise. The `action default` commands are failing to translate complex key combinations into effective guest OS events. For a product aiming to run an entire OS, the inability to handle basic input flawlessly renders it impractical for serious work, limiting adoption to niche or experimental use cases. This fundamental input emulation gap indicates a significant deficiency in `terminal-mac`'s core capabilities, directly undermining its viability as a functional MacOS environment and suggesting a lack of robust input event handling for non-trivial keystrokes.

`action key`: modifier chords (Cmd+A / Cmd+V) and Backspace/Delete have no effect in focused web form inputs in the guest

Environment: terminal-mac 0.2.0, host macOS 26 (Tahoe), guest macOS 26, guest Google Chrome.

While filling a web form (Upwork proposal form) in Chrome inside the guest via `terminal-mac action default`, plain typing works, but editing keys do not:

Steps to reproduce:
1. In guest Chrome, open a page with a prefilled text input (e.g. a money field with value 250).
2. `action default click` into the field, then `action default key cmd+a` — the text is not selected (typing afterwards inserts at the cursor instead of replacing).
3. `action default key backspace` (or `delete`) repeatedly — no characters are deleted.
4. `action default type '6'` — the character is inserted at the cursor, so basic text input does reach the field.

Also observed: after opening a Chrome menu with `action default click`, clicking a menu item (e.g. Edit → Select All) did not execute it; the menu stayed open.

Expected: key actions with modifiers and editing keys behave like physical keystrokes in the focused element.
