SVG Fitter, a Rust+WASM-based tool for guided raster image vectorization.

Technical Positioning
A tool for creating lightweight SVGs from raster images through a semi-manual, guided process with genetic algorithm fit optimization and color preservation, rather than full auto-vectorization.
SaaS Insight & Market Implications
SVG Fitter addresses a specific pain point for designers and developers requiring optimized vector graphics from raster sources. Unlike fully automated vectorizers, its 'guided process' and 'semi-manual tracing' suggest a focus on quality and control, crucial for professional use cases where precision is paramount. The use of 'genetic algorithm fit optimization' indicates a sophisticated approach to achieving efficient SVG output. Built with Rust+WASM, it implies performance and web-deployability, aligning with modern web development trends. While currently a personal project, its potential as an open-source tool could attract a community of users seeking a more controlled vectorization workflow, particularly for creating lightweight assets.

Show HN: SVG Fitter – Rust+WASM Vectorizer

I went crazy with a tool that helps me tracing raster images. Thought other might like it.It doesn't auto vectorize image, but rather allow for guided process. Final SVG still should be edited.Few fun features like genetic algorithm fit optimization, semi-manual tracing and color preservation.Perfect if you want to have lightweight SVG from huge PNG image.Note: If there's interest I might open-source it, just not sure if anyone would want to see it :)
