Sylph, an open-source "company brain" implemented as a Git repository for managing company context, building AI agent skills, and creating AI agents with a self-learning loop.

Technical Positioning
An open-source, tool-agnostic framework for building and managing an AI-powered "company brain," designed to avoid vendor lock-in and integrate with various AI agents.
SaaS Insight & Market Implications
Sylph addresses a critical pain point in enterprise AI adoption: vendor lock-in and the need for flexible, customizable agent orchestration. By providing an open-source "company brain" as a Git repository, it offers a foundational structure for organizations to manage their proprietary context and integrate diverse AI agents without committing to a single platform. This approach empowers developers to build tailored AI solutions, fostering internal innovation. The "self-learning loop" concept suggests continuous improvement, a key driver for AI system efficacy. Market implications include accelerating the development of internal AI capabilities within companies, reducing reliance on external SaaS solutions for core AI infrastructure, and promoting a modular, adaptable approach to enterprise AI.

Show HN: Sylph – the open-source company brain behind my YC startup

Hello HN! I'm Claire, founder of nao Labs (YC X25). Two months ago I started building a company brain in a git repo. Now I fully run my company with 8 AI agents, 20+ skills, and a self-learning context repo.I built it in a git repo because I refused to lock into any tool - not a context layer, not a specific agent harness. Today I'm open sourcing it so others can build their own.Sylph is the open source version of the company brain I use. It gives you the structure to host your own company context, build skills, create AI agents, and already has a self-learning loop scaffolded. It is a Git repo, with no lock-in on any tool, that can work with any agent: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor.Sylph is made for you to make your own: fork it, run /sylph-setup, and it will build your own company brain according to your own context.Repo: github.com/getnao/sylphHow I built it: thenewaiorder.substack.com/p/i-built-a-compa... me what you think, and if you've got some tips if you built an AI brain for your company too!
