I was disappointed to learn that this app costs money to use as a teen with no money I found this crushing so know I won’t be able to use this app, which I thought was quite helpful so know I’m just gonna learn it on my own but again I feel you should make this app free for people truly trying to learn the beauty of sign language.

Lingvano have helped me so much with my asl it taught me a lottttt I do recommend this to anyone who is looking for apps like Duolingo this was exactly what I wanted and was looking for

You only get a couple of lessons until you have to pay to continue. There are plenty of free resources to learn asl, don’t waste your money
Hikeael Michael • May 23, 2026
I feel learning ASL is a very important beneficial trait to learn and I’m grateful and excited to be learning from this app. I feel like I’ve gained better knowledge and have improved in my ability to sign

I never pay for apps. Ever. This app is the best tool for learning ASL apart from being submerged in it in daily life.

Even easier than Duolingo. So accessible and inclusive. Thank you very much.

This app is amazing for anyone learning sign language. You can go as fast or slow as you want and work at your own pace. The app is very user friendly and easy to navigate. I just wish it was a bit more affordable, I’m only able to keep it for 3 months due to the cost. I’m in college and taking ASL so this app is helpful with learning new signs and practicing for an exam. I would suggest this app to anyone wanting to learn sign language.

It’s not free. Requires subscription early on before learning proper grammar

it was great but then you have to pay for it. if you don’t pay then you can’t continue after about 12 lessons. it was great until then.
hffhejg • May 19, 2026
this app was great for the first couple lessons BUT THEN it told me i couldn’t continue unless i paid and did not give me a heads up that it wasn’t free and was very frustrating so never download this app unless they change that or your willing to pay for that.

i love the app but charging people to learn something that’s useful for all people is lame. i have two hard of hearing cousins who are 6 & 7. all i want to do is communicate with them not pay another corporation who’s doing okay off of downloads by itself.
ILOVELEMONS123 • May 17, 2026
This app is really good and I’m learning asl a lot faster than I expected
AnnesleyC • May 16, 2026
I kept wanting to download Lingvano and balking at the price. I waited several months, and finally snagged it on an ASL Day “sale.” I’m so glad I did! It’s an incredible app. I’m learning SO much, and I look forward to finding time in my day to open it up and learn/practice. It’s really well designed, the language is taught so naturally, and I feel like I’m actually retaining what I’m learning. Just overall an A+ from me.

The function where it reads your hands does not work at all, you can be making the exact shape but the camera does not read it. They ask review questions about things you haven’t learned yet which lowers your score and deters me from wanting to continue. I wish questions were more about the actual signing and less about paying attention to specific wording, in those multiple choice questions that are meant to catch you not paying attention.

I started learning asl for school this year, and wanted to continue learning with this app. I got through chapter one, and most of chapter two, but then it said I had to get pro or whatever to continue on. It wouldn’t even tell me how much it costed, and only told me about the free trial. I got this app to learn sign language. Not to pay a prescription. Otherwise, I liked it a lot up until that point, and it’s a good app besides that fact.
