Gemini Executive Synthesis

DLSS 5 Neural Rendering on AMD GPUs. The core idea is to extend support to the Linux operating system.

Technical Positioning
The project currently targets Windows. A request for Linux support indicates a desire to expand the product's market reach and cater to a segment of AMD GPU users on that platform. This would position the project as a more comprehensive, cross-platform solution for AMD users seeking DLSS 5 functionality.
SaaS Insight & Market Implications
A direct inquiry about Linux support signals a clear market demand for cross-platform compatibility. While the current project focuses on Windows, extending to Linux would unlock a significant user base of AMD GPU owners who are currently underserved by proprietary rendering technologies. This expansion would position the DLSS-NR-on-AMD solution as a more versatile and inclusive offering, potentially increasing its overall adoption and impact within the open-source and gaming communities. Ignoring this demand would mean ceding a valuable market segment.

Same question, linux support? ... I tried to get it to work, I even added the amdhip64_7.dll it asked for, but then it threw an error about having an old GPU, and that it wont work ...thats clearly BS as I know I have a 9070 that can run FSR4 which is AMD's AI upscaler without issues.. I also tried combining it with optiscaler 0.9.5_pre3 and they didn't work ..I also tried the beta DLSSNR Optiscaler ... none of it is turning it on.

Same question. I could get the game to open with amdhip DLL but couldn't get it to work

Can you try my installer in my repo? https://github.com/guentra/DLSS-NR-on-AMD-Linux I only tested it on my own computer

damn man i deleted my linux an hour ago
danielblnc • Sep 5, 2026
Yes, I'll get to it at some point. The only theoretical blocker is that it requires the HIP runtime version 7 or later. If you can get that to run on proton/linux, the rest of the mod should load with no issues.

Extracted Positioning
DLSS 5 Neural Rendering on AMD GPUs. The specific problem is the failure of the software to activate or even recognize the AMD GPU (RX 9060 XT) during installation and runtime, despite the GPU functioning correctly with other applications.
The project aims to provide a seamless installation and activation experience for AMD GPU users. The current issues indicate a failure in hardware detection and software integration, preventing the product from delivering its core value. The goal is to ensure reliable GPU identification and feature activation.

Extracted Positioning
DLSS 5 Neural Rendering on AMD GPUs. The specific problem is rendering issues and crashes in 'Wuthering Waves' on RX 7900 XT (RDNA3). This includes black screens in Async mode (UI visible) and errors/crashes in Inline mode, potentially due to color space mismatch or device removal/hung errors.
The project aims to provide a functional and visually correct DLSS 5 solution for AMD RDNA3 GPUs. The current state, with black screens and crashes, indicates a failure to achieve basic rendering integrity and stability. The goal is to resolve these rendering pipeline issues, particularly color space handling and device state management, to ensure a playable experience.
