Static recompilation of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK Recomp)

Technical Positioning
Native Windows x86-64 execution with a Vulkan renderer, aiming for faithful game rendering.
SaaS Insight & Market Implications
This issue reports severe, game-breaking rendering artifacts on an AMD RX 470 GPU with `totk-pc-recomp`. The description details 'missing geometry/lighting pass,' 'broken lighting/shading pass,' and 'corrupted post-processing & fog,' resulting in an almost entirely black world. This is a critical failure, directly undermining the project's core promise of native game execution. While UI elements function, the inability to render the game world makes the product unusable for affected users. This indicates significant compatibility issues with specific AMD Polaris architectures and Vulkan driver interactions. Resolving these fundamental rendering flaws is paramount for `totk-pc-recomp` to achieve broad hardware compatibility and user adoption, as such severe visual corruption renders the recompilation functionally inert for a segment of its potential user base.

### What happened and how to reproduce it

Severe rendering artifacts and missing geometry/lighting pass occur in-game, rendering the world almost entirely black while UI elements remain functional.

Broken Lighting / Shading Pass: World geometry, terrain, and character lighting fail to render properly, resulting in near-total blackness across the scene.

Silhouette / Unlit Models: The player character model and surrounding geometry appear as pitch-black silhouettes or fully dark shapes.

Corrupted Post-Processing & Fog: Shadows, volumetric fog, or ambient occlusion passes appear to fail, causing blocky/stair-stepped black regions or flat missing texture regions across the viewport.

Intact UI Layer: UI elements (HUD elements such as hearts, stamina wheel, control prompts, and FPS counter) render corr...

i have the same problem on my rx 580, i've tried changing some settings but none worked

I have the same problem; my RX 570 isn't working. I enabled ASTC in the CPU settings, and it improved things a bit—that might be helpful.

i have changed to cpu, reduce stuttering, but the image remained the same

even in title screen

I have an RX 580 8 gb variant and the black/broken texture is there. There is ab update due for this series of GPUs. Game seems to run fairly well from 40-60 fps (more or less) but it doesn't matter when the textures are completely broken.

@NansMM The GPU driver reset at the title screen (device lost), and the log doesn't show what caused it. Could you add these lines at the end of totk.ini and run the game again? ``` [performance] v...

@valentderah Same crash as this issue on my machine, and I found a workaround. Adding this under `[performance]` in `totk.ini` fixes it: ```ini vk_recorder = 0 ``` **Setup:** TotK Recomp 0.1.1+701b...
